SLR 8" SBR build done. Just waiting for a few accessories (sling end plate, AAC Blast Shield, Cloud Defensive LCS, and an actual working ScoutLight head) and repairing my BTC Spectre, but otherwise al

Hey all! I kind of stumbled upon this thread by accident while searching for M16A2 receiver markings on google and saw one of Catgut's amazing VT's. Which brought me here I have been working on

One of my latest build, a real Colt M16A1 converted for GBBR on the WA system. Stripped upper, barrel and BCG was changed to Viper Tech du to my local laws. Also a video of how it was made:

It's Dytac. They don't give a *suitcase* about IP rights.

I know.

Problem is how fast will be (if) reaction from Geissele...

Aww, and I forgot Dytac's LaRue PredatAR. And in this particular case I have the feeling almost like certainty that reaction will be swift and deadly.

Correct me if I'm wrong but folks at King Arms weren't selling their LaRue replicas for a long time...

End of off-topic ;).

Any AR pics, anybody ;) ? (I have no new one)

Nice, looks like 13" long? May I ask if this is genuine or copy and if copy, who is the maker?

Planning to get 13" to my gun, but not sure which copy get.

10 inch rail with 11.5" barrel.

I got the Iron Airsoft one at Shooter Gear.  They come with the QD sling KEYMOD mount (which the hole is too small for my DYTAC or G&P QD for some reason; but it looks like it's a non-rotating mount if it fits) and a KEYMOD RIS panel.  Both extra bits have lasered KAC markings whereas the rail doesn't have markings.  Oh and it comes with barrel shims.  The IA one has the integrated barrel nut; whereas the DYTAC one uses the URXII way of mounting the RIS.  DYTAC one is powdercoated IIRC, and the IA one is anodized.

Dytac's IV use the same way of mounting as III series and it's powder coated...?
Dang. It's nice to know that, since I have some plans for KAC build.

And obviously if I choose URX IV it won't be Dytac's version for sure.

PM'd.

And sorry for the confusion guys, DYTAC's rails are anodized.  I was thinking about something a friend of mine said when talking about the clone URX4's and he said the DYTAC one had a more 'powdercoated-like finish", not that it was powder-coated.  The main thing is the IA rail feels smoother whereas the DYTAC one feels rougher.  Was applying for a bunch of internship positions at the same time I was replying to Mazor's post :(  Sorry about the confusion!

Both should be anodized.  I dunno why there is a difference in finish though; I'm no expert on anodization myself.

I have to say it again. I   !@#$%^&*   LOVE working with Cerakote. These paints are simply awesome.
Doing it at home causes a bit of mess (smell mostly), but results are nothing but pure pleasure.

I hate to post requets after what feels like not searching enough, but can anyone provide a few pictures of builds using both a 12'' free float rail and a 12-12.5'' barrel?

I currently have a JBU free float RAS (12'') and a 14.5'' standard profile barrel, considering switching down to a shorter barrel length...
