SSG69Pro
Please excuse my englisch, I'm from germany ^^ If you see any faults, tell them to me:D Here is mytutorial on these short magazines, which will not only fit for M14-magazinesbut although on many other kinds of magazines. At first wehave to disassemble the magazine. I've drawnthe sawing lines on the outer shell. The onedownwards is the right one, I didn't like the upper line. Before youcan saw the innards into pieces, you should take the spring out…screw here... …and thensaw away the downward piece: At theshell, we throw away the upper part and keep the under piece: So thesheet folds are kept and you just have to file the upper part fitting: Otherwisewould be much more work… Now we haveto shorten the magazine spring to a suitable length, here you have to try out, The springshould be powerful enough to feed all BBs, but the shorter she ist the more BBsfit inside the magazine… And now wecan reassemble the magazine: Aaaaaaand….done =) I couldspray new color on it, but I like the used look…and from using it, it will getscratches soon, so why make the effort^^
FHairsoft1
nice looking little mag there! How many bbs does it hold? "Here is mytutorial on these short magazines, which will not only fit for M14-magazinesbut although on many other kinds of magazines." in that statement do you mean it will work "also" on other kinds of magazines? Mike_West
It's nothing new, I've seen a similar tutorial for M16 mags, but it was more complicated, with cutting out the middle section of a magazine and then matching top to bottom so the BB channel was smooth. SSG69Pro
Yes, I meant "also"^^ thanks The magazine holds 7 shots, I will try to chop out the middle next time so that it can hold more BBs
Mike_West
This might not work, I'm not sure how large are the curves in the BB channel. It might turn out there's not enough straight sections that can be cut out.
Murdoc
I made it from high cap. It hold 70 BBs, but can shoot out 50-60...
faramon
Sorry to necro this. (does this count as necro .. is six months just inside xD) I am tempted to do this but go the the same length as the Armalite mages, try to make the spring fit in a way where it can go around the mag, hold a fair few more rounds. Edit: best typo ever, leaving that in .. but I meant Armalite Mags.
heroshark
if you chopped the very top of the mag then used the bottom of the mag, linked them up and made the channel smooth you could get a "U" shape channel. Or you could cut the center out leaving a spiral channel with no straights (bar going up to the mag feed),but the mag would be longer.
SSG69Pro
I tried this, glueing the top of the mag and the bottom with the "U"-shaped channel together, but this is kinda weird... the BBs like to get stuck in there because its difficult to get the both halves together perfectly. The upper channel is more slim than the bottom one, and you have to file a descent...tricky^^
