Schnitzel with noodles - what made you smile today?

£1.50 each?

How are you supposed to reuse them?

They are tiny and black - you'll never find them.

I suspect that these are just ball bearings from a bearing race manufacturer, considering the hardness they are probably from some sort of high-end bearing assembly.

Just did a little research.

5.953mm seemed a bit specific, turns out it is 15/64ths of an inch which is not an uncommon bearing size.

"third hardest material know to man" is actually diamond at this point but it looks like with new research that diamond is dropping fast.

Anyway, given the bearing guess it is a pretty easy leap to Si3N4 which (while not the third hardest material known to man) is pretty hard.

I checked with a little maths and the density of Si3N4 when applied to a sphere with a radius of .3mm gives a weight just slightly under 0.36g.

You can get 15/64 Si3N4 bearings cheaper here:

Interestingly it says in the advert while the normal colour is black if you contact them they can make them in lighter grey too.

Presumably much more useful for airsoft than the black ones.

How long until some pillock starts nailing car windows with these I wonder? I imagine they'll have a similar effect to smashed spark plugs?

They would be handy for some of the little wankers round here that think they are Nigel mansell*

I have lego inbound. Goody goody goody.

I also have the place to myself for three days, two nights. Going to get the old GameCube out and play a bit if Conflict Desert Storm 1+2. Damn, I want to buy a new loadout and have it based on Jonesy. Now, do I wait for WE to release their SD MP5 or get the VFC version . . . .

This makes me smile, even more so if you can get the rest of the bunch. Was always Connor here

Also am I recollecting wrong or did Foley (or whatever the sniper was called) turn out to be one of the bad guys in Global Storm?

He disappeared and it was hinted that something suspect happened, (when he's replaced by the female sniper, who's name escapes me) but we never/didn't found out what happened to him.

I found the music to Global Storm to be a bit porno. . . .

I have ordered a new front wheel for my bike.

It is a Shutter Precision hub dynamo built to a Velocity Aileron rim with Sapim CX-Ray spokes.

I have ordered a Busch and Müller Luxos U light to go with it.

Now I don't have to worry about the battery in my light giving up 1.5 hours into a bike ride, long-*albatross* winter rides, here I come...

Fenix looks nice and it has a decent run-time but as with all battery powered lights it will die eventually.

With the Luxos U I get light for as long as I can pedal, even if I cycle through two consecutive nights.

As a bonus, during the day I can charge USB devices from my front wheel.

That light is focussed on off-road, so the the beam design is big and round and very bright.

The Luxos is designed to comply with German road traffic laws so the beam has a strict horizontal cut-off that will not dazzle oncoming motorists or cyclists.

It also has dipped and main beam.

It gives me a bike-boner.

Plus it really upsets all the guys at the Tuesday night ten mile time-trial to be overtaken by a fat guy on a steel bike with mudguards already and a dynamo light will make them do a trampoline turd.

(That's where it comes out and bounces off the lycra and goes back in).

Got antibiotics and pain meds (cocodamol for when its really bad) for my tooth. Good times. Ridiculously excited about the prospect of moving out, especially if I can start growing my own herbs and chillies again, ideally a veg garden too.

Lady is teasing me about now owning a Hooters top, obligatory request for pictures issued.

I first read it as you have the hooters top and she was teasing you for it

A fair interpretation. Can't say I've ever seen a guy with a Hooters shirt, imagine they must exist for men to show their support for said chain. She'd probably just end up stealing it...and calling me a perv but we both know each of us are anyway.

Well I had a great last few days of the Fringe.

Seriously it was awesome and I could have easily spent a week at just one venue watching all the free live shows (always chuck a couple of quid in donations there way though). One or two acts were not so good (oddly they were ones that were ticketed) but the rest was awesome and well worth the time and effort.

Now if only I could wrangle a place to stay in Edinburgh for next year so I can see some of the late night shows too next time that would be awesome.

Also may have sorted my woman dilemma. Well if this weekend just gone by is anything to go by then I think it is a clear choice ;).

Finally I (literally) bumped into Phill Jupitus at the top of The Mound in Edinburgh too on one of my days. Taxi pulls up, someone gets out, nearly walks into us and bam, it is Phill Jupitus. Wish I got a picture now, even had my camera but was too busy getting to the trams to think :D.

Wait, the trams are working finally?

Yup, they have been since the 31st of May.

However they only help about the 1% of Edinburgh that live near a station, are expensive only if you are going to the airport and provide an easy way to get to Murrayfield from some areas. They are basically a useful service for some, a big waste of time for others. At least they are cheap and always on time, a first for British transport surely? :P

Not sure which thread this should go in, but I'm pretty happy with the whole situation, so I guess here:

Single again, just as I was starting to realise the scale to which I didn't like the girl, she rings me up at 0030 am and breaks up with me saying I am too nice and shouldn't be with a girl like her and I should go find a nice girl that is like me. So I said, 'okay, if that's how you feel, I'll see you when I see you', and then the next day went and asked out the girl I wanted to ask out in the first place.

Now apparently she is fuming because I didn't fight for her and moved on too fast. Hahaha, silly *badgeress*.

So it's all worked out pretty well, except for her obviously.

Personally I would say *fruitcage* her (and not in that way).

That whole 'fight for them' thing is BS and I have been there all of three times, each felt just as stupid as the first. If someone wants you, they want you no buggering about.

As for me, well I have half the annoying bills sorted that I needed to do and now have to get my MOT done by the end of the week but that should be all good so I am happy.

Plus I have a girl coming over for the whole of next weekend, she is very 'interesting' :D
