The us coke is vile HFCS for the loss.

Mountain dew throwback is what you want proper weapons grade dew with real sugar oh my god it's like phet. Also the dubai made in glass bottles is the best as it's like throwback.

The clear dew is vile though. I'm mostly ok just frazzled about the flat visit by the landlord and the fact someone keeps binning my ashtrays!!!

Oh hey, Chinese line laser pointers go for 2 quid these days! I may even buy five, wire them up to a 555-powered counter and hang the whole assembly on my specially made goggles, so I can have another element of a XCOM Declassified costume!

Fijian? *fruitcage* that.

The only people that can top Fijians are Samoans and Tongans.

If you need something fixed/broken/removed if it's a heavy thing/lots of small things/drunk soldier in a bar you call a Fijian.

"No worries boss, it's gone"

And by jove it's bloody well gone. Where, I don't know.

That sounds about right. I still wouldn't try to keep pace eating with one though.

My cousin who lives in New Zealand was telling me about one of the islanders that lives on his street who had a lamb leg on his plate at a barbecue, where the normal people had a chicken leg.

We had about 30 Fijians in my battalion.  When everybody went home at the weekend they would throw block parties, and cram everybody into one 8 man room somehow.

Being on duty at the weekend was a nightmare.

The process for duty NCOs usually went like this.

"Please do not burn the block down and kill each other"

"JOIN US!"

*get dragged into grog party*

We were clever about that, our chief was our provost Sergeant.  The only point of contention was that one of our Lcpls was Fijian "Royalty" which took him outside of the tribal hierarchy somewhat.  Nobody deferred to him, but he didn't have to defer to anybody else.

Luckily, big Joe Leqa was an articulate and mild mannered individual.

So I did some military-related shopping. Minimum order value was €30, so being stuck with €27 worth of goods (some costuming junk and PVC G3 mag pouches) I wondered what can I buy to top it off.

I decided on caffeinated chocolate.

I guess I'll be seeing sounds soon.

has anybody heard of/ tried "free base" caffeine? I've heard its pretty crazy

Nope. Had "Death Wish Coffee" though. That had me feeling like I couldn't stop moving.

EDIT: that link is horrible. So much extraneous *suitcase* going on that it just wouldn't run the video properly.

Its basically "crack caffine". You make it smoke-able. Not for me!! My landlord's assistant said he put instant coffee in his vaporizer and got a crazy rush off that. Caffeine is actually pretty sketchy, relatively speaking. at my body weight of 75kg (and according to some calculator thing) 32 cups of filter coffee drunk in succession would kill me!! On that basis its 1000x more lethal than cannabis haha

On the plus side whilst in morocco the other week I bought a 1kg of freshly ground coffee for £2 :D edit: and the bag split in the plane so the whole fuselage smelt like ground. so good.

edit 2: sorry bout the link, all the other stuff was on *suitcase* like drugsforums which I don't wanna go on at work.

Is it that good?

Might need to try that.

Definitely gonna give that a miss. I don't think I need that in my life.

If it was pre ground and you bought it a few weeks ago it's already stale.

Your coffee game is weak.

Next time buy roasted beans and grind them at most the day before (within the hour is better)

Just been chatting with Polarstar direct on skype. They're a very helpful bunch of people. Seriously awesome. Send me some replacement parts for much cheaper than I could find elsewhere. Not sure why I haven't gone direct to them before!

Was totally about trying to install a part into my fusion engine which turned out to not be compatible with a V3 engine, meant I cut a hose too short. But a quick chat with them and theyve set things straight, sent me a replacement hose for free and got me a black nozzle cheap too. Happy James right here!

nah was ground in front of me. no grinder but it's in a sealed tub. still good. Yeah my coffee game is weak but to do the things described above I don't reach for coffee ;)

Nah, seriously. Coffee starts going stale within minutes of being ground. (actually the more recently roasted the better but the increase in staleness increases exponentially once its ground. Summat to do with surface area and exposire to oxygen, like why grated cheese goes off faster than a block.)

Grinders are cheap. Best upgrade to coffee you'll make.

Not sure I can make it, tbh. plus no working gnus.

It's easy enough. Even a £15 'whirly blade' cheapo grinder (with the consistency of a very unconsistant thing) can generally give better/fresher tasting coffee than preground stuff (with the exception of specialist coffee places like Smokey Barn who will say when they've roasted something and will often grind it the day they post it to you).

Supermarket preground will, on average, be around 2-4 months old. The beans, as I've said will be slightly better, but honestly, coffee is the one luxury I will always find money for. It's like the difference between tesco value steak and microwaving it, and going to a farm shop and hand picking the exact steak you want, then cooking it on a charcoal barbecue until it's perfect.
