paranoiddroid
Cheap headphones turning out to be suprsingly unshit. Loud enough to block the faint tinitus buzzing and bluetooth enabled mic.
PureSilver
Loud enough to block the faint tinitus buzzing Isn't that like saying "my new cigarettes are smooth enough to calm my emphysema"?
paranoiddroid
I have them on for white noise when I sleep basically an ocean wave or a TV static type thing. It's fairly helpful and better than sleeping with a fan on when it's this cold.

Habakure
I have a couple of thunder storm (and rain) mp's and cds. They do send me off to sleep. Also, something about dripping water (think water dripping from a gutter and hitting a pool of water) is really relaxing.
scorch
My other half snores. That blocks out my tinnitus.
Pdubyuh
A full on rainstorm where you cant hear individual drops I can do and do find relaxing but as soon as it turns to dripping, that's me needing the facilities!
hitmanNo2
I think dripping would drive me nuts. I can't even stand a clock ticking in another room.
Alias1983
I have to sleep with something on, I dont watch regular TV. So I usually play a series of youtube videos and I'm out in about 20m. Take the fan and dont point it at you.
Habakure
I also like the sound of a ticking clock, esspecially those grandfather clocks. Having a clear out and it feels good.
darkchild130
Taking December off to concentrate on my writing. Feels good man. Darkchild
Tw1tch
Just bought a 3V CR123 charger from component shop along with a set of helping hands, and some IR LEDs. Terrifyingly the Maplin CR123s might be the best option as they're higher in capacity than most I've seen. Slightly worried they discontinued their own charger for the batteries though. And the LEDs are to convert the visible light on my Element PEQ when I order it in. Just made sense to buy them now at what, £0.15 a pop.
paranoiddroid
I need some space and time to write, have seen a freelancers gig I'm temper to apply for. And as for what sends me to sleep iv found Ian from forgotten weapons has a really soothing voice so generally put on a play list of interesting antique or rare guns being field stripped. shmook
A couple of little treats arrived today. It's always nice when new knives arrive to play with!

shmook
Mmm, sweet, sweet snap-on!
DeltaZero
Now I've just got to fill it! It's probably 70% full.. But the remaining 30% will be expensive I imagine.. As all tooling is!
scorch
Tool porn. I'd love one, but I'll have to make do with a knock off cabinet. No way could I afford that. Besides, if I did, I'd have to fill it with snap on tools, and I actually prefer draper sockets.
amateurstuntman
Oddly, the Halfords stuff is excellent, they do wall drive sockets and spanners. Anyway, I put a new palm rest on my laptop today, the old one was cracked. Since I had it apart I decided to "upgrade" it. I am able to (and already did) disable the track pad on the thing but it still moves and clicks so while I moved it from one palm rest to another I splattered hot glue all over it. Solid as a rock now...
DeltaZero
I bought this one full of tools for £3K. All Snap On and Bluepoint kit so very happy with that, thankfully the guy was desperate for money after coming back from Vegas with £4.5K on his credit card his missus knew nothing about and I just happened to know how to help him out and be looking! A lot of wonga right now but for what it's worth I couldn't really pass it up! It's got enough tools in it to get me through my apprenticeship and last me a good few years before I start needing any specialist tools. EDIT: Got a good deal of Halfords stuff as my home tool box, it's good stuff especially with the lifetime warranty. Good enough for home at least!
Tinkerton
walldrive is best drive. And i can say that as a true wisened guy that's used non wall drive sockets on things which left the production line over two decades ago. corner drive rounds things.
shmook
Yep, also a fan of halfords advanced kit
Tinkerton
DeltaZero, what do you actually do? I spy brake rollers (that look quite heavy duty) and 2x 20L tubs of something, probably gearbox oil? And 2x 5L tubs of REALLY old Quantum something or other - probably coolant? They've not used white jugs for engine oil that I can remember, and that shape of jug is at least 6 years old... plus the ubiquitous black plastic drain pan that every garage has but nobody appears to have ever bought... DeltaZero
Im a HGV Technician Apprentice for Iveco. Good spot for all the stuff.. The Quantum stuff is coolant correct. AFAIK it still comes in those white jugs.. I put some in a truck this morning straight out of jugs like that. We use a lot of it so I can't see it being old stock.. Though I just used what I was given so maybe it was. As for the rollers, those are tachograph rollers, the brake rollers are in another bay, 3rd from the right in the picture, tachograph is at the end.
Tw1tch
Parts came in. Charger works with the maplins batteries which makes me happy. Then they actually fit my Scoutlight. Now for my PEQ to come in and fit one of the IR LEDs to it. Batteries better fit in the PEQ too.
