amateurstuntman
The track car now has race-spec solid engine mounts. We stuck the good quality polybush ones on the daily and discovered that the main top engine mount had snapped clean in two. No wonder there was a suspicious knocking. Both cars are now noticeably better.
Tinkerton
solid engine mounts? Gotta be a horrendous level of NVH in there |:

amateurstuntman
solid engine mounts? Gotta be a horrendous level of NVH in there |: Possible but in a Clio cup on lowered suspension there is so much NVH you can't detect the extra. You can tell the denomination of a coin by driving over it though.
Mike_West
Aaaand the sutures are off! It hurts a lot less now, too.
Tw1tch
My promotion paperwork has all gone through today, so I get some pay at the end of the month and then my first proper one end of June.

Gunnman
So, after I passed on the M3 after finding out it needs new suspension. I decided to look at this: McLaren/ASC Mustang Roadster. At least, it's not Vanilla Ice triple white!
Cannonfodder80
I've just seen karma in action and it's great. My *albartroth* supervisor (see the ouch, my eye thread) has found out the e mail he got from HMRC was actually a phishing scam and he's given them all his bank and personal details
Hedganian
Oh dear. What a pity. Never mind.
Cannonfodder80
What's really making me laugh is that he claims to be really good at spotting these but didn't think it strange that HMRC would want to know his card details

amateurstuntman
I have no idea how they only managed to get 225hp from a 5 litre engine. That said, the (modified) fox platform the car is on has great potential. I can't help feeling you'd be better of with a stock mustang as a base car rather than the aftermarket convertible. You can easily get M3 performance out of one of the tin tops and even keep up on a track with the right mods.
Tinkerton
wait, what? that's only 45hp/L. That's as few as 4.5 tens, and that's terrible.
Tw1tch
Today was bring the sledgehammer to work day as we've had a load of old kitchen gantries in our cellar for months and despite us messaging the other pubs in our area no one wanted them. Hour or so destroying numerous ones, fortunately most were fairly simple spot welds but one was a pretty damn tough weld so could only break it down so far. I can feel an ache in my back though. hawaiianjuggernaut
Recently found I had a giant stash of HSA armory stuff. Posted threads up on another forum trying to clear it all out, selling like hotcakes. Extra 50 bucks here and there, how wonderful
Tw1tch
Smashing things for the win! Indeed, great stress relief and when in an interview next I can bring up I'm good at breaking things, intentionally.
shmook
I do love a good sledgehammer session. That reminds me, mine needs re-shafting. Fnar.

I will be the first to admit that American's are terrible at making an efficient engine back in the 80's. And the 5.0 can only take so much power before you have to do structual mods to the engine We'll see on the Mustang.
Habakure
Put something up on ebay and it sold within fifteen minutes. Sweet.

Habakure
Oh yeah. Gained a tenner so I'm a happy camper. Been really lucky with the items I've been selling recently. Beginning to think maybe I'm pushing my luck. . . Might try to sell *suitcase* in a bag, see what I get for it.
