Fortunately you know a nice guy on an internet forum that sells boiler parts for a living. ;)

Cheers bud, I will take you up on that if needed.

We have trade accounts with a few plumbers merchants, and have registered gas engineers for the bits I'm not supposed to touch, but genuinely, thanks 😃

At the very least, I can tell you if it's still available and ballpark what you should be charged for it. ;)

Superhans: Yeah, long weekend ahead of me staring into the mirror.

Mark: Oh... Right... Bit of soul-searching, was it?

Superhans: Cocaine, mark.

Supplementary edit: You do know we vote, say middle-class coke users

I only watched that episode on Monday night!

Peep show is truly excellent!

For some reason I thought they were doing another series.  I then realized the S9 was 2015.  Hmm, that's a long wait.  Oh, it's finished :(

They are!

Nothing set in stone yet but they plan to do another series 10 years after the last - so 7 or so years to go...

Agree with it all. Coke is rife.

Yup. Mum just found out her pub is rife with it.

She put a sheen of Vaseline on the flat surfaces in the toilets and next thing she's got one of the entitled *suitcases* kicking off about it. You'd have thought if you're up to no good you'd take the hint when people arent ok with it but apparently not.

Oh nice.  I'm sure I saw an interview a while back and they said they would only be teaming up again for another series of Back.

This makes me laugh.  A normal person would just stick a bit of paper, receipt or something down and do it off that.  What you need is angled surfaces everywhere.

It's not like people don't carry a lovely big flat bit of glass in their pocket these days.

Maybe, but probably only a couple of years if any. My previous NCB had no effect on the motability scheme and I'm told that most insurance companies don't count years without claiming on a mobility vehicle, even if you've had one for decades and never claimed.

It makes no sense, but car insurance companies are all bandits anyway, doing anything they can to get a much money as possible while rejecting as many claims as they can get away with.

Get a really, really cheap "project" classic car and park it up somewhere.  Insure it with a classic specialist as off the road and the insurance will be about 10 quid.
Maintain NCB indefinitely.

It varies from insurer to insurer but it seems insurers max out discount at 9 years NCB.  9 years would be around 40% discount. There's only a 10% difference between 5 years and 9 years.  So losing 15 years isn't as bad as it seems.

How about this for a project

That is a money pit, not a project...

My wife and I found out she is pregnant with our first child last weekend. Obviously we are absolutely over the moon and weirdly I'm not panicking. She doesn't want to tell anyone yet until we are a little further on and I want to shout it from every rooftop I can find with the biggest megaphone I can find.

So I've come to the internetz because if you can't tell someone on the Internet who can you tell? Plus none of my "real life" mates are on here... (not saying y'all aren't mates, but I've never met any of ya... Which is weird, it should change somehow! What happened to the hat Arnies meet up?!)

Holt *fruitcage* balls I'm going to be a Dad.

Why doesn't he just shift the plate (is that allowed?) and then scrap the car?

It's a 1960.
No seatbelts needed, bare minimum MOT requirements, basically any mods are fine.
It is worth it, buy the car, cut out the piece of the chassis rail with the VIN number on it, weld it into a less ruined, newer car.
????

Profit.

Best of luck mate.  She is right though.
All the best.
