Tinkerton
Fencing again tonight. Properly loving it. Need to find the best shoes for me for it. Got some old Nike flex run things that didn't quite have enough support, some asics something or other that were a bit too heavy and clumsy. Going to try my barefoot shoes tonight - they're desert boot style but fairly secure and I reckon the lightness will work wonders.
amateurstuntman
Try something like a rock climbing shoe or a rubber soled driving shoe. I have some Puma Stock Cats that would be perfect.
Tinkerton
Do they do them in size 14/15?
DeltaZero
I was gonna suggest puma drift cats.. but not sure about sizing! Blimey that's big man! You must have a massive............ Pair of socks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Skarclaw
http://www.fencing.net/4197/the-comprehensive-guide-to-fencing-shoes/ Not sure I like the sound of 7x bodyweight impact with barefoot shoes!!!!!! tbh I'm minded to think that saving £££ is like when you get guys going for really cheap airsoft guns... yeah they'll do the job but at somepoint something will go wrong! When you are doing demanding physical activity going wrong = risk of injury... Try these guys they may be able to help you get some adidas fencing shoes in a large size http://www.specialistsports.com/ back in the day I went there in person they have a massive warehouse. edit: not saying a massive warehouse = fencing shoe in size 15, but perhaps more relevant is that they had the prototype official 2012 olympics weightlifting shoe so I think they have a good relationship with adidas. failing that they may be able to point you in the right direction. Mike_West
So I got myself a bottle of limited Cap'n Morgan Black Spiced Rum and an offer to trade my old riding boots for a chainmail shirt.

Pair of socks. Yes, I do indeed have a massive........ Pair of socks. Drift cats look interestings. http://www.fencing.net/4197/the-comprehensive-guide-to-fencing-shoes/ Not sure I like the sound of 7x bodyweight impact with barefoot shoes!!!!!! tbh I'm minded to think that saving £££ is like when you get guys going for really cheap airsoft guns... yeah they'll do the job but at somepoint something will go wrong! It'd likely be better through barefoot as 1: I seriously doubt lunges exert that much pressure on the trailing foot, and without the acres of cushioning most shoes have you'd be able to regulate how much force you were putting through your leg because you'd bloody feel it if you put too much through. I may end up having mismatched shoes, something with decent support on the trailing foot and something lighter and more flexible on the leading one... What I really want is something with perhaps 4mm of cushioning on the heel tapering to none at the front.
amateurstuntman
That's just a very well worn in driving shoe then. I'm sure they do some kind of driving shoe in large sizes, you guys are rare as a percentage but there are 7 billion people out there. A lot of them have big... ... socks. DeltaZero
Drift cats are pretty much perfect if you want that sole profile.. if you can get them or something similar you're onto a winner! I've had pair after pair for years and they're amazing. Puma Speed/Fast Cats are also very similar. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Tinkerton
They look interesting but not sure how hardwearing they would be. Pressing pedals is a world away to nigh-on sprinting accross a wooden sportshall only to stop and start running the *fruitcage* backwards in a split second. Todays happy? I start practical training a week today. BOOYAH!
amateurstuntman
Payday. Just ordered a factory refurbished Asus PG278Q monitor. 27" 2560x1440 144hz G-Sync 1ms response Hits all the major requirements for being the perfect monitor. I know I could have splashed out and gone for the 21:9 predator but I just don't think that technology has matured enough. I could also have had a 4K monitor fr about the same money but it wouldn't have been 1ms, 144hz or G-Sync. I think I made the right call. I also got some razor blades, a pair of Knipex flush cutters, a Displayport cable (forgot that one would come with the monitor) and a Baofeng 2 way radio for airsoft and etc. That's me spent up for the month but next weekend GTA V will be in a much nicer resolution... Also, 3x1080p monitors and a triple monitor stand provisionally for sale...

amateurstuntman
Quite so, my existing side cutters are chamfered on the outside so when you use them to cut cable ties they leave a bloody lethal sharp bit sticking out. The new ones should cut flush and stop the problem.

DeltaZero
I love tools. I just can't stop buying them, they earn my living so it's not a massive issue but even so, nothing better than a new addition to the toolbox! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
