Skirmishing with the brand new GHK G5!

Blatant blind-firing. Blatant non-hit-calling (using the old his-bb-disappears-if-mine-hits-him-first excuse). Blatant cheating by telling players where opponents are while dead. At least a dozen instances of drilling people from <2 feet away multiple times. And he rages at some guy with a laser.

But perhaps the stupidest thing is he actually has outed himself by posting up this video.

//edit: One of his other videos is entitled "Why the bang rule is stupid"

I just watched Darrens vid and to be honest it actually made me a bit madd! I have done friendly games without marshalls but you just took this to another level! Even my girlfriend who plays airsoft with me thought that this was poor sportmanship! You blindfire, Spray your enemy loads of times when theres no need, cheat by giving away enemy postion when dead and cuss them out..then you tell me if someone did that to you would you be happy??

But worse is you put it up on youtube! What; you want to brag that you are an utter *Ubar*??

Seriously bro..go learn the rules of airsoft then play with your "KIDDY MATES" cus no Adult will allow this type of game play! So you must have a mind of a 12year old to do such things!

Just utter disgraceful!...

The 'dead men tell no tales' rule is pretty much non existent in Hong Kong too. I constantly have to remind players on both my side and the other to shut up and stop trying to tell me where the guy who shot them is.

It's not that they are bad players per se, but no one ever seems to do any rule briefings or enforce any consequences over here so these bad habits become common place.

I cant justify the way I played, by shooting my opponents too close and blindfiring, but those games were played with people I knew personally, so I apologised to them after the game.

I was also joking around with my teammate when I said "Look at this *albatross* with his red dot" because we both have PEQs on our guns but dont use them often, so it is ironic to us.

Again, I cannot justify how I play, and I apologised to the people I hit.

Right going to post a few vids

This was from the Mall - Reading

Zombie private game at the Mall

Zombie game open day at the Mall

Well, bad posts aside, I'd like to bring everyone's attention back to these ones.

AMAZING! Some excellent footage there mate. You've got yourself a subscriber!

I've been meaning to visit the zombie days at the mall when I get back to the UK. It looks so awesome.

If you like, I can share your videos on my facebook page or link them on my channel. Maybe you can just make a 30 second trailer with those close-up zombie attack / death moments? I'd be happy to share something short like that :)

Check out my channel and Facebook page if you have a moment!

It's good to see you maning up and owning it. Based on prior experience I was 99 percent sure you'd come back with some nonsense defensive response, so this was pleasant surprise.

I guess it's marginally better if you were playing with all your buddies, but the stuff you were doing can and will quickly become bad habits that you do ALL the time, not just with your "understanding friends." Airsoft is a game of honor, and sportsmanship is the only thing that can keep it alive.

I understand, thank you for pointing that out. I dont go overkill or look for the close range kills on purpose, it was just that in the situation I responded too quickly by firing first and asking questions later.

In my other videos I show a lot better restraint by using my pistol in close range encounters.

A guy was banned from my local site here on Saturday because he argued with another player, walked up to him and shot him point blank 3 times in the head. No matter what the disagreement is, overkill or shots that are too close will ruin the sport. Please be careful!

Yeah, though I only shot him once, and in the mask. Not at all the right thing to do, and I accept the consequences of my actions, but in the interest of transparancy I'll probably be posting the gopro footage of the incident later.

So, embarrassingly enough, I have just come back early from an indoor CQB game after causing some drama.

What happened:

I rush forward, end up behind the enemy's front line and have had several issues with at least four different players not taking multiple hits at close (less than 10m) range. I am not pleased, it is only the second game of the day and I have already encountered nearly ten players not taking hits to the head or arms.

At this point, I am shot at by a friendly player, who I then turn and engage. I hit him in the head/facemask once but then realise he is a friendly and tell him "Friendly!" as he does not have to take friendly fire as per site rules.

He then moves and pops out of a different bit of cover, whereupon I shoot his arm several times thinking he is a different player, but get shot in the process.

At this point, I am fairly f**ked off, so as I walk past I shoot him once in the mask, which is not at all the right thing to do, but in the heat of the moment...

So then he grabs my shirt, we have a shouting match and I walk out into the safe zone, whereupon he follows me and grabs my shirt again. At this point the site staff and other players intervene and we are pulled apart, though neither of us is attacking the other bar my shirt being grabbed.

I apologised to both teams, the player in question and I packed up and left to stop any ill will from getting worse.

This is not the first time I've lost my temper in Hong Kong airsofting, the last time I played against this particular team in CQB I also had issues with people blatantly not taking their hits and ended up sitting a a few games out after pulling off pretty much the same stunt.

I've posted an apology on both team's facebook pages, but I feel *suitcasey* and I am worried that this is becoming a problem. I've never been this bad in the UK - I've had the occasional gripe and a moan, but I've never shouted at other players or escalated things like this before - though in my defence the level and prevalence of such blatant cheating in Hong Kong is several orders of magnitude higher than the UK.

So yeah. I'll be sitting out of the CQB side of things for a while, and I'm a little upset at being banned from that site for life, but I'm starting to get a little stung with the team mentalities I've encountered recently.

Though I have raised several concerns before vis-a-vis certain players not taking hits at all, most of the teams just say "Oh we'll handle it" and then proceed to do absolutely *fruitcage* all or give a slap on the wrist.

In any case, I'll miss that particular CQB site, it was very well run and managed, and I don't begrudge them of their decision as the team with the cheating players I had issue with play there constantly - lose one customer or twenty, I know which I would have chosen.

In other news, Casshern, would you like some vouchers for that site that I'm no longer allowed to use?

To be fair to Darren I did read the 'look at this *albatross* with the red dot' as being jokey enough that he probably knew him, I say similar stuff about people I know on the other team sometimes (when I get pinged with a tricked out rifle etc).

Fair play to you though Darren :)

Tbh you guys are putting me off Asian airsoft quite a lot seeing as how I'm planning to go over there...

I'd like to point out that there are still some great players in Hong Kong who are a pleasure to go skirmishing with. It's just a matter of finding them and sticking together, and not letting the teeming multitudes of hit dodging wankbucket fartsnorkelers let you down.

(edited because I managed to find a bad word that the censor didn't know o_o)

I would of thought HK based player would be one of the best in sportmanship? Im suprised at "the dead man tell no tale incident" happen a lot over there???

Funny enough i did that one time and the marshall tagged me and the guy i told out lol.. I felt so bad! Lool had to walk all the way to other side of the site to respwan.

Ah, it was you. Well I'm sorry if my information wasn't accurate, but explanations aside, that sort of play - no matter how angry you may feel - ruins the game for everyone present, discourages people from playing with that particular group, and as stated here, is ruining the reputation of HK airsoft. I'm sure you're aware of that, so your decision to give airsoft a break is a good idea. The phrase 'heat of the moment' has been used as defense in criminal trials for goodness' sake. If unfair play makes you so angry that you'll shoot someone point blank, I'd rather not be around you in all honesty.

I don't mean to rub salt in the wound, but I have played with you once at an outdoor game. I didn't see you play unfairly, but you were incredibly loud and punctuated every sentence with obnoxious and unnecessary swearing. I curse at times. I'm an adult. But pretty much every adjective was modified with language that hurt my ears. At the end of the day I'm quite sure it was you that also full autoed me in the head with sustained fire (not a burst) despite my yelling hit 3 times. Needless to say I didn't retaliate.

I've played airsoft in Hong Kong for four years. I found a group on Facebook when I arrived, joined them, made friends, and I still play with the same guys now. Those people that welcomed me on my first day were my groomsmen at my wedding last year, and come over to my tiny apartment to see my Christmas tree. Most of the players I encounter are friendly, fair and genuine. We don't want to hurt each other, and we apologize profusely if we ever do. If you really think SO many people play unfairly, then you must be on a different planet in my opinion.

Thank you for your offer of vouchers, but I'll decline this time around. I am actually called a 'Gold VIP member' with extra discount already and no need for booking fee, because I have been going to that site since it first began, and we have made friends with the owner. I make videos for his website, I made a holster for one of the staff members, and the owner let me film a wedding video there with my wife.

In short. If you play this game as it's meant to be played, and treat everyone as they're supposed to be treated, Hong Kong is a wonderful place for airsoft.

I implore everyone else to come and play with me (airsoft - not bum fun). Fizz from Zeroone visited HK last year, and we went around the shops together, even though I don't know the guy. Dave! I've missed you from Zeroin! (I'm Laughing Man!) It's not been the same since your mohawked head disappeared. When you come over, drop me a line and we'll have a beer and a game. Not in that order probably :P I'd love to show you around my town and have some good games with you.

Anyway. Isn't this a video thread? Here's PART 2 of my 3rd Person POV GoPro CQB. This time with the KRISS Vector!

Zombie or not Zombie - full feature

Played a zombie game, as a zombie. We were 30, 20 survivors and 10 zombies. Survivors were limited in BBs, and had to find a way to survive (take shelter, find food and medikit, find the keys for the SUV...). Zombies weak point was the legs (had to be shot 3 times to fall down). Zombies "bite" survivors when they managed to touch them with their head. After three bites, the survivor become a zombie.

That was pretty epic, please leave a comment or a question if you have any (I swear, I don't bite... much).

I'm really glad that the majority of the Hawaii fields dont have those problems with fights at fields during or between games.

There was a KWA sponsered event a few months ago at a particularly iffy field on the island about I want to say 6-8 months ago?

Anyway, some people got mad for whatever reason (calling hits, polarstar suspicion, douchey play style, excessive shooting, hitting dead players etc...) or whatnot, and it ended up in a fistfight/brawl involving quite a few people. Cops had to get called and I believe the responsible parties were arrested and spent the next few days in jail.

It was a very rare incident and I'm glad I wasn't there and at risk of anything stupid like that.

The temper of some players is astonishing.

Its a game! Call your hit, play again next time, everyone stays friends.

I play at pretty much only 1 field now because everyone knows everyone at. Its' a fun atmosphere and light spirited.

I can count the number of times I've seen arguments during games here in Hong Kong on 2 fingers. 2.

One was at an open game site where any players could just join rather than coming as a group. So now I just stick to my buds.

The next was someone I invited from Facebook. He didn't take his hits because he felt he was hitting others first - but his gun wasn't firing. He was getting riled up, which I didn't like, but I lent him my gun anyway. When he shot at me nothing came out either, so he got upset again. He hadn't released the magazine spring. He didn't so much apoligize to me later as he just made excuses about havng a bad day. I just said politely 'we have a rule here, it's "don't be a *rickroll*." try to stick to it and you'll be fine.' He actually liked that.

Anyway, here's part 3 of my 3rd person POV rig game. I'll be making a howto video shortly regarding the build itself, then next weekend I'll be shooting another game with a few adjustments to the camera angles. Watch this space!
