the roob
The TAD litespeed is really exactly what I'm looking for for hiking, travel and probably longer airsoft engagements too. I just can't justify spending 250 on a tiny backpack. what out there is relatively close in style and size to the Litespeed pack? I'm looking to spend sub100USD http://www.tripleaughtdesign.com/Equipment/Bags-And-Packs/FAST-Pack-Litespeed
Squeezee
Perhaps the TT Removable Operator Pack fits your needs: http://www.skdtac.com/Tactical-Tailor-Removable-Operator-Pack-p/ttr.128.htm
Azubi
http://www.greyghostgear.com/packs/lightweight-assault-pack-6 Normal pack is 500D with additional packs (currently out of stock but being made as we speak) made from litelock material in Multicam and CB. http://soldiersystems.net/2012/02/21/multicam-materials-litelok/ It's a more traditional opening for the main compartment though. If the main appeal is for the flip open front then have you considered the 5.11 RUSH12 or RUSH24? http://www.511tactical.com/All-Products/Bags-Backpacks/Backpacks/RUSH-24-Backpack.html http://www.511tactical.com/All-Products/Bags-Backpacks/Backpacks/RUSH-12-Backpack.html

the roob
Flye and pantac make just the normal TADfastpack . not the litespeed which is slimmer and smaller all around. I ended up picking up the TMC compact hydration pack which is larger than I expected but Im very impressed with the build quality. It's a roughly 25 liter pack so carries about the same as my black hawk 30L 3 day assault pack with lots of MOLLE to make up for the lost 5 liters. I have it packed up for overnight hiking now, it's too big to be just a hydro pack for skirmishing. I'll probably end up with a repro MAP spine pack for that in a few months. Now I have to get rid of some old packs to make room! I have an SDS 3day Jumpable Assault Pack(3co desert) and a Tactical Tailor Assault Pack(khaki) that I need to get rid of, if anyone is interested shoot me a PM.
bradw76
Just buy the TAD. I have owned 3 of Thier packs and the flye version the clone had typical clone problems loose stitching and the like. At least with real thing you can always resell it if you don't like it anything from Triple Aught holds it value Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
