TM SPAS and M3 stock [Help Requested]

After many skirmishes with my TM SPAS-12, I've realized that it makes my arm hurt from all the pumping.

I've decided I want a stock, both to help with pumping, and to make it easier to aim.

The only problem is that metal stocks for the SPAS are few and far between. The ones available on yahoo auctions are selling for $230+.

I'm going to try and find a surplus M3 shorty grip, maybe a super 90 grip and stock (if I get lucky), and try to attach them with the tools I have available at my house!

(Which means: Screwdriver, hammer, super glue, pocket knife with tiny saw, pliers, a wrench, and some epoxy)

Before I start, if any TM M3 & SPAS owners want to tell that the parts are completely incompatible and that I'm an idiot, please do.

Hold on my friend! With some modification the KTW TM SPAS stock will fit the Marui, and they're not too pricy at all: http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/ktw-spas-custom-metal-stock-set-for-ktw-only.html

This might be enough detail to let you complete your mod: http://www.airsoftforum.com/board/lofiversion/index.php/t197290.html

TM M3 stock fits on fine, all you need is a screwdriver :)

Awesome!

I wanted to do that, but it seems like more work than the M3, and I need a dremel. :(

From my loose understanding, I think you can just use the TM bolt on the KTW grip and stock and be all set, things only get really tricky when you want to put the KTW stock on the Marui.

According to this, the KTW grip won't fit.

So? They aren't loud enough to disturb anyone unless you have the speed cranked all the way up and don't draw much power.

Okay, it's more of a problem that my parents don't want me to use power tools in the house. I miss having a garage, trust me.

Anyways I found a use super 90 grip and stock for $30 so I'm going to try that. There weren't any KTW stocks for sale anyways, and I can't order from HK now.

With the right bit of modding and say 1 or 2 hours work it fits just fine. I have done one already, thinking of doing a second pretty soon. It will fit on within minutes, however if you wish the stock locking pin / stud to work, that is here the time is. Some very patient time with a dremmel and top result.

Sorry to sound like an *albatross*, but could you read the posts above yours by me?

I would do that, but I can't have a dremel. I'm $50 down and with a useless stock. I'd rather make that stock work then spend $60-$70 on another. I'm searching for a workshop that will let me borrow their tools (in shop).

A dremel is worth the $50. If you get a KTW folder you will instantly have the sexyest gun on the field, the M3 stock would just be wierd(maybe cool wierd, maybe ugly wird)

Well guys, I hope you are proud.

I asked a physics teacher at my school and he is letting me borrow a brand new Dremel kit for the weekend. This way my parents can't say no :P. I will be "dremel-ing" the M3 stock to fit my SPAS. Wish me luck!

The main reason I gave up is that the stock screw that goes through the entire stock to go into the receiver is not at the same height as it is on the SPAS.

(That sentence sucks).

As in, I'd have to pull apart the SPAS mechanisms and drill out more holes, re-arrange parts, build a new gun, etc.
