kithooton
Awesome Review... Can you put a PTW upper onto a Lower G&D and the other way round? Would you say that this could be a better option than the CTW? Is there a UK retailer Selling one?
1st Commando
you cannot easily swap uppers as the through pins are larger on the DTW. I would say they are far better value than the CTW
Megalomaniac
How much larger are the pins?
1st Commando
about a third larger, i'll check accurately asap
Kreator
Has anyone put a few 1000bb's through theirs yet? Some guys in Sweden has experienced: *Destroyed motor gear (due to lack of motor adjustment and poor material choice) *Broken cylinder (Nozzle assembly torn right off) *Malfunctioning Selector Rack (It's plastic, it's bound to fail) I'm hoping for these improvements: "Improved Motor Gear" "Motor Adjustability" "Improved materials used in Cylinder Assembly" "Selectorrack Made Of Metal" Bring it DTW! bobsboy
You can now get replacement IC panel and ECU Mosfet (and complete gear box) from asia airsoft. I bought a M4A1 DTW from RSOV and will let you guys know if its any good when it arrives. I see that there is a CQB model on the way... nice.
Kreator
Where's the cqb model? Its on like donkey kong!
bobsboy
Where's the cqb model? Its on like donkey kong! It's "coming soon" say RSOV. Also i see that they are listing more parts including a motor which is handy as these are the main things that go wrong on the PTW.
Yoggi
Are the markings on the receiver painted or engraved? If painted, have easy are they to scrape off?
mightyjebus
painted and they should be easy enough to remove.
Redwolf UK
They are actually laser engraved and it is bare aluminium showing which I have seen treated with Aluminium Black (Casey Birch) with great results
mightyjebus
mines is white paint.
bobsboy
On closer inspection mine is a laser job.
Crimson
So then a few weeks later how are they holding up ?
Yoggi
quite confusing. 2 painted vs 2 engraved. How deep are the engravings then? I need to remove them entirely.

G_A_Z
Hello ! First of all thanks for this amzing review ! I Wanted to know, if you change the outer barrel and the hop chamber by systema, do the gun will still stop shooting when there won't have Bbs anymore ? Because in a video I have understood that it stop firing when there are no bbs anymoe on the hop up chamber. (I'm French i hope you'll understand what i mean) Thanks
Megalomaniac
The hop-up chamber has nothing to do with the firing stop.
1st Commando
I have installed both systema and Celcius inner and outer barrels on my Trial DTW I currently have Celcius 10.5" outer with Systema 08 inner barrel and MDD hop . Madbull MK18 RISII and both DTW and PTW cylinders . VFC LMT crane stock , DD rear sling plate , PTW pistol grip and grip end using Systema ,DTW and real emags with systema internals . I did sand down the inside of the mag well to remove casting lines which made it better for systema steel mags as they now drop cleanly
mightyjebus
how's it holding up 1st commando? any problems?
Kreator
Sooo, experiencing any wear on motor-gear? Broken cylinders? Failing motors? Real p-mag fit makes me happy as fawk.
1st Commando
So far all good with no issues . Motor still sounds very good and gearbox runs smooth . My real emags fitted better than any other mags before I sanded the magwell but now they all fit sweet
ranchy
got mine this week. and it even came with an orange flash hider even dough they said its not possible. Like with every new aeg i buy, the first thing i do is opening it up. Wasn't really thrilled with what i saw. There was like sand/dirt everywhere. Don't know where it came from. So if you buy a dtw, deffenetly open it up and check the insides. After cleaning it all out i went to the chrono: 415 fps average with 0.20. thats a lot more than the 385 in the review on top. the dtw cycles perfect, the motor sounds crispy so we went to set the hop up. For this i used 0.25 like i normally use in the field. I just couldn't get a clear strait line. Because the hop is not compatible with the ptw i will probabely buy a new unit and inner barrel and CNC the outer barrel to make it fit. keep you posted.
LordElpus
or just mod the existing to lift .25s as the stock systema one also struggles to lift more than .2s
ranchy
bought fcc hop up unit and barrel. much better performance and fits without any modification.the nub in the original dtw unit is . Could have changed it but prefered a P-barrel so for me this was the best option. Edited December 21, 2012 by ranchy
