PureSilver
134a is NOT a global warming catastrophe in a can. Its use was restricted in the 1980's due to concerns of the chemicals in 134a creating a "hole in the ozone layer." No, you are confusing 1,1,1,2-Tetrafluoroethane (a.k.a. R-134a) with Dichlorodifluoromethane (a.k.a. R-12), which was phased out in compliance with the Montreal Protocol (1989 onwards) because of its high ozone depletion potential. R-134a, launched as a replacement for R-12, only appeared in the early Nineties and has negligible ozone depletion potential. However, while R-134a (and other HCFCs) have minimal effect on the ozone layer, they have a very high global warming potential; R-134a, for example, has a global warming potential 1,430 times that of CO2 over the course of a century. The ozone "hole" still appears in the northern and southern hemispheres at regular intervals so the restrictions are now being viewed with some skepticism today. It is just not the hot topic since the ban on 134a use was largely accomplished and that was supposed to solve the whole issue (Pun intended). Damage to the ozone layer was extreme and since efforts to repair it have not actually included 'replacing the ozone' it's to be expected that the damage didn't just disappear, although early stages of recovery have become apparent in the last few years. Your analogy is like suggesting that just because we stopped shooting someone today his bullet wounds will be gone by tomorrow. Further, the kind of people that express 'skepticism' over something as well documented as ozone depletion are the kind of people that inevitably go on to (baselessly) insinuate ulterior - usually financial - motives for environmental protection measures. Which, predictably, you go on to do. In an attempt to limit any further derailing of this thread, I suggest that we reconvene to discuss global warming when both of us are qualified and accredited climate change scientists. bankz5152
With apologies for the off-topic, what do you guys run your barbecues off? Bloody good point! And outside heaters? I reckon butane/propane mix. Back on topic anyone found any major issues yet?
Chevieblazer
About propane, a problem I see might be the fps propane generates, since it's fairly powerful (unlike say medium gas or abbey predator) Doesn't it get you over 360 fps? (which I recall is stanadrd in Belgium and many CQB fields) Also, about the steel internals: yes, they're very durable and give you just that little bit of recoil, but aluminum internals might improve gas efficiency... I agree it does deserve to go off topic. I did not mean to derail the topic at hand. By the way, who did Al Gore sell his Current TV network too last month? And what exactly did the massive "carbon trading" scheme that Al Gore helped establish (and was a heavy investor in) do for "gobal warming." Ever see a picture of Al Gore's mansion? I stop being a skeptic whent the proponnets start LIVING like their is a problem. Baselessly indeed LOL! Edited January 6, 2013 by Roman!

Bucko
I need a Kriss in my life. My team has 5 across 13 guys already, with 5 more planning on picking them up when our Sponsor gets them in stock again. Great looking gun. To those running them with a T-1 Micro on a high mount, do you find the optic effective? I run it on all my AR uppers, but I'm curious if it'd be ok for the Kriss. Maybe a lower mount would be better?
bankz5152
I found T-1 hiddious to use. Totally hiddious. Better off using a £10 reflex.
sacairsoftsn00py
Works very well if you wear full face masks when gaming. I wear a mesh mask and these work out perfect for me. ..
IBMedic
Guys its airsoft, not shooting real steel and be a super secret SEAL squirrel operator. If you like to full auto dump all your mags in a game that doesn't make it wrong in any way. This stupid "full auto iz wrongz" talk is ridiculous. QFFT Seriously guys, this semi-auto elitism is just pathetic. It's an airsoft gun, it doesn't shoot 1 MoA, you're not limited to 30 rounds, it has no recoil. Completely different rules apply. If you gave a soldier a magical RS M4 with a 300 round mag and no recoil, you can bet he will go full auto, because it's more combat effective. More rounds down range = more kills. It's simple math. Noveske
Ok guys, let's keep things back on topic. My KRISS saw it's second field day on Saturday. Again, performed remarkably. Had a couple of bolt jams which I noticed are most likely due to me being lazy and not staggering/zig-zagging the bbs correctly in the mag when loading. Still working on jam clearing ergonomics for the KRISS... ha ha ha
sacairsoftsn00py
Been running mine all week. Its awesome in cqb...there's probably already 30 people who has test fired my gun and said "I want one" lol. At its max range..it hits the sweet spot a lot of times and underhops some times. Said it before and I'll say it again...marui gbbs with adjustable hops hits that sweet spot at its max range virtually every single time. When engaging at under 100 feet...the KRISS is awesome. I have yet to field mine outdoors. For those looking for KRISS magazine pouches...my buddy at HeadOn Tactical has started making them. http://headontactical.storenvy.com/products/914547-single-kriss-vector-pouch http://www.facebook.com/HeadOnTactical He makes super nice stuff.

PureSilver
Is anyone mad enough to try cutting a long mag into a short one? Looking at the parts diagram, it looks to me that if you cut part # 352 down, and drilled new holes for the pins, it could be done. If this was a sniper backup weapon, I'm thinking you'd want the first mag to be a short one to keep the gun compact while it's hanging from webbing or a sling.

It'd need a bit more just drilling the pin holes, you'd also need to mill the inside for the base plate seal.
bankz5152
Could just wait for the short mags to come out.... Not the best thing for a sniper back up, from what ive read thus far its rather weighty.
Reppyboyo
This is not a secondary, at all.Too bulky, too heavy.
nautilus
That depends on the person. I like to carry it in companion to my launcher, as I find it fits very nicely down my right side on it's one-point. I could use my MP7A1, or my MAC10, or MP5K for a lighter load, but nah...... Folded up, the size is not an issue even with the longer mag, and while the weight is up there, it's not a major matter. Edit: Though, in fairness to Bankz, I never take it out with my L96, as I want something super-compact as a marksman's backup (usually my G18 or MP7) Edited January 7, 2013 by nautilus
PureSilver
Heavy guns are my preference anyway. I think that like nautilus says, with the stock folded and a good sling arrangement, the Vector is an interesting alternative to smaller SMGs (MP7/MP9) when you want something more than just a secondary. To me, the Vector looks compelling as a primary/secondary where the other primary/secondary is a more specialised weapon (e.g. a bolt-action) that would normally be carried on your back. bankz5152
See oddly im 6'4" and pretty built yet I much prefer using SMGs & pistols as primarys never really got on with rifles! I really cant wait for mine to arrive! Should be a perfect size for me!

You might just want to wait for the short mag to be released. It should be quite soon, but don't count on it being cheap. I've heard they'll be around the USD40 ballpark.
