kaiu
Hey chaps, I reckon some of you might find this thread interesting; http://arniesairsoft.co.uk/forums/index.php?/topic/212354-baton-sopmod-lipo-adaptor-internally-lousy/ I would prefer to use the other adapter because it gives more space, and you can use crane stock lipos. All you would want to do is convert the Tamiyas into Deans. Here's a link for those wanting to get one, similar pricing to the Baton ones. http://item.rakuten.co.jp/mimiy331/sopmod-connector/ BTW, does anyone know if the Echigoya Sopmod CNC buffer tubes would be compatible with the TM HK416 stock? http://echigoya-guns.com/guns/index.php?route=product/product&path=61&product_id=415 (Hoping it comes back in stock soon) Edited March 12, 2014 by kaiu

blobface
Richard, any luck with removing the barrel nut of the 416?

My only small issue is that the stock can only be moved by pulling down the positioner(like when you want to remove the stock from the tube) instead of just pushing it. This might be only happening on mine tough. On the other hand(maybe because of this) there is absolutely no wobble on the stock, and since I don't pull the stock in/out other than at the start/end of a game Im fine with that. You know you can adjust how much the lever retracts the locking post right? After removing the stock from the stock tube, use a 1.5mm hex tool to loosen the locking grub screw on the side of the locking post's bolster at the bottom of the stock. Then put a phillips screwdriver into the stock through the hole in the top and while holding the screwdriver still, tighten the bolster until you think it should be enough to allow correct function. Test to fit, readjust if necessary etc.
Richard Y
Richard, any luck with removing the barrel nut of the 416? No luck, with the one I had, will order a other at some point for another go. I'm told there's specific c spanners for the job. Best to check real steel websites for a tool. blobface
No luck, with the one I had, will order a other at some point for another go. I'm told there's specific c spanners for the job. Best to check real steel websites for a tool. I've looked on HK forums and people have managed to get their one off (real steel) with a pretty standard delta ring lock: http://www.hkpro.com/forum/hk416-hk417-hq/181447-my-hk416-mr556-barrel-nut-wrench-dilema-solved-cheaply.html But I think the trouble with us is that TM's one isn't made out of steel, but probably some exotic cheese, so I should think a tool that isn't super snug fit is going to damage the holes when you exert force. I'm literally thinking about making a tool just for this at this point...
Pdubyuh
If we ever get any alternative rails SMR/Remmington etc that'll fit the TM 416 someones gonna have to work it out ! Edited March 13, 2014 by Pdubyuh

Richard Y
look there it is .. i hate that barrel locking nut so much..!!!! you could prob fudge that to go on but good to know its not a straight fit.
christhesecond
Probably easier to mod the inside of the rail no?
mr.whathesays
I'm one of the first persons - if not the only one - in Germany owning a TM HK416...and i can't describe how happy i am Now i want to do something good for her, by adding some specials... Has anyone of you experience with the gold stock terminals and/or the Kobayashi motor?? Do the make a big difference to the original ones? e:// A Pic of my beauty... sacairsoftsn00py
Mine The kobayashi torque motor is our of stock. I've tried a few motors including the guarder infinite motor, marui eg3000 high cycle motor, tienly 30000 motor, and g&p m170 devil jet motor. The g&p motor is awesome with the 7.4v lipos that I use. Next is the guarder. Those two don't suck up the battery much. They improve the trigger response significantly. If your velocity is limited there. ..or are limited to semi auto fitter only. ..look into the guarder infinite motor as is the most cost effective improvement performance wise. christhesecond
Very jealous of the cqd rear sling plate.
mr.whathesays
Ok...thank you...how does the sound of the 416 change? is there any motor/gear-sound left or do you hear only the recoil? Any experiences with the gold terminals?
sacairsoftsn00py
If you are using the guarder infinite motor with the stock gear set..the gun will sound smooth. You will have to adjust the set screw at the bottom of the grip. No experience with the gold terminals. I may attempt to install a basic MOSFET into the 416 some time...less I opt for the btc specter. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
SixtyNiner
Kobayashi Torque-up Motor is in stock at Eagle6 http://eagle6.co.uk/shop/upgrade-part-s/upgrades-aeg/motors-parts/echigoya-kobayashi-torque-up-motor-long-type.html Very impressed with mine, smooth and a quiet. I haven't used enough of the alternative motors to say it's better than X or Y but I'm happy with it.
arne71
Same as SixtyNiner. Very happy with my Kobayashi motor.
sacairsoftsn00py
What batteries are you guys using to run the kobayashi motor? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
mr.whathesays
Can someony make a video where we can see the trigger response and the sound with the kobayashi?? This would help me a lot!!
sacairsoftsn00py
Are you keeping yours stock? Using 8.4v sopmod batteries? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
mr.whathesays
Yes, it will stay stock...i think it is good as it is I only want to reduce the engine sound with the kobayashi motor, because it is said to be very quiet...i'm using 7,4v lipos!
blobface
Sorry for taking so long to install it after getting the Spectre for next-gen v2, but here it is! http://arniesairsoft.co.uk/forums/index.php?/topic/212612-btc-spectre-fet-for-next-gen-v2-gearbox-initial-impression/
