So I want to be a British Support gunner, and I need help with gear etc, since I have no clue about british gear. I am going for an Impresion look of basicly any british soldier with DPM. And I need as much RS/Repro as possible since I want to use this loadout during Milsim, and in Sweden the Milsim rules are quite harsh. I have a M249 MK1, I think it is called L108A1 or is that the MK2? I think I already have some DPM 95 pants so I only need, vest, jacket, backpack, possibly boots too. abbadon101 Posted January 7, 2013 Report Share Posted January 7, 2013 What will you be needing to carry and what ear of British military are you looking at? I would say you want to get hold of a DPM smock and trousers, a Northern Ireland daysack and if you need to carry mags, frags and other things for quick access either an Ops vest or a Northern Ireland Chest Rig. All you should be able to find quite easily on eBay for not too much money. Link to post Share on other sites

And those are basiclly the most modern gear i.e. -90 / -00 and that it is DPM, not DDPM or MTP. Hope that is enough As I said before, I have no experience with british gear or military. abbadon101 Posted January 9, 2013 Report Share Posted January 9, 2013 Well if you want it as accurate as possible, kit wise DPM trousers and Smock, Mk6 with DPM cover, Northern Ireland day sack, Ops vest or NI chest rig, boots can be whatever but black. Weapon wise your Mk1 249 will be a good start but ideally you want the para stock and short barrel with your current Mk1 handguards. Nickona Posted January 25, 2013 Report Share Posted January 25, 2013 If you're going for DPM then vest wise I'd actually go for PLCE webbing rather than a vest. It would also be more comfortable when lying down. As for backpack as said above the Northern Ireland one would be best as they are very popular with the forces. To source stuff I'm sure eBay and surplus stores will be able tot provide you with loads of cheap ex-issued kit Weapons wise abbadon is spot on with the current one but I'm sure you'd be able to keep it as a MK.I while you get it all together.. Bit of a necro post but what's different about the gas block and rear sight? They both look identical to my issue one in Iraq in '03 ad '05. The only difference I can tell is that not all had the rails (very few if any had them in '03 and in '05 most only had the L85 dovetail rail mounted on). As for kit, while I'm here, I used to wear an issue assault vest as a Minimi gunner or a chest rig type thing that had one 200 round ammo pouch either side. Think it was made by Arktis.
