amateurstuntman
Did anyone see this on the news. I was stunned. Were it not for the utter incompetance of the assassin the leader of the opposition would dead. Incredible. http://m.gawker.com/5977352/watch-a-would+be-assassin-attempt-to-shoot-a-bulgarian-politician-on-live-tv
bladerunner168
I guess he doesn't have a security detail. Massive LOL moment towards the end when an OAP steps up and whacks him with umbrella then stamps on him
Misfit
He does have security, they're the chaps that swarm him. There's a clearer video here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-21103987 Article has been updated since it was put up: Early reports suggested the weapon was a gun, but it was later confirmed to be a gas pistol - a non-lethal weapon used largely for self-defence which does not fire bullets but which can cause serious injuries if fired from close range. ED-SKaR
Seems suspiciously like somebody sent him and gave him the gun deliberately to fail... Doubly so if the weapon was "non-lethal" It seems like a publicity stunt rather than an "assasination". But, of course, we don't have much information yet, time will tell. I doubt being kicked the *suitcase* out of would count as a publicity stunt? Unless that guy was paid a lot of money? 'FireKnife'
hitmanNo2
I don't know. The more and more I look into this it does appear somewhat staged to boost the guys approval ratings. I'll take off my tin foil hat now.
WhiteHawksan
well, the easy way to see is if there is a large selection of reshuffling in his private security detail over the next few weeks
M4_Fanatic
New security detail job openings...apply within.. If it wasn't a publicity stunt... bad drills on the security detail... As bad that the Czech(?) dude who had numerous BBs shot at him...
amateurstuntman
Also, did anyone notice that the news streams all reported him as a would-be-assassin or failed assassin or similar? You don't have to actually succeed to be an assassin, so would-be or failed is tautology. All he is is incompetent.

'FireKnife' I meant that the "assasin" was not in on it. But yea... tin foil hat time right now.
FireKnife
Considering that if you listen to the BBC report that another political figure was killed a short while ago and a further attempted incident occured it is a bit questionable. Plus why was the guy carrying a pair of knives? Still Bulgaria is a very hot political area. 'FireKnife'

Cannonfodder80
Could be a message to those in charge. Something along the lines of "look, we can get to you so do what we want or next time it won't be a non firing gun" From whom this message would have come from I don't know
bankz5152
LOL good ole Bulgarians 'kick him till he calms down' Is this the same guy who was attacked and shot 6 times with an airsoft gun a while back? Or was it just the same part of the world..
Cannonfodder80
No that was a guy in the Czech Republic
T.w.a.T.
Guys thats was all PR. That was internal job of his own political party, hi is no longer convenient for them, his own political crew and Turkish goverment don't want him anymore. And yes, they are all turks. The whole party was orchestrated by the Turkish goverment. So IMO, they want to show him again, that it is time for him to go home and leave the political circus.
