dazdarren
Are these real turbofans?
stupidhead66
I've got a pair of real turbo fans, and they look exactly the same. I've also seen quite a few knock off's and they typically stand out when you know what the real ones look like.
SHWEL
None of the Knock offs I have owned have had a colored ESS.. They are usually the same color as the frame, no paint. Also the vents on the fan usually aren't very clean (Excess plastic/material)... *Cannot be 100% certain these days though.

dazdarren
My goggles have some elements of being fake, and some of being real. I have looked over his guide a million times haha thanks though!
FTZ-WildeCard
When I had issues identifying some ESS ICE goggles I contacted ESS directly through their website. They came back within about 24 hours to acknowledge and then about 24-48hrs after that they confirmed the position (they were real). The thread is on Arnie's here somewhere! If in doubt, you can also contact them and see what they say. Good luck!
dazdarren
I emailed them twice asking about the differences between the real turbofans and fake ones and they never replied What should I ask if i were to email them again?
FTZ-WildeCard
No idea. Did you send them the photos? When I had my queries I sent everything I had, including macro photos of any markings etc It may be that it's not possible to identify the units from your photos.
dazdarren
Ah that may be why, I did not send photos.
greenbull
I have a real one, although in tan. 'ESS' is not in another color. The cabling inside the goggles is exactly the same however. I guess there's a big chance it's genuine.
