Isamu
That is commendable and certainly the step y the best direction, unfortunatly here in Spain we are not as lucky as you... customers are still seen as cows to be milked... Well, buying from HK is still much cheaper than buying from the shops, even with customs meddlings...
Mahonen
Stripped a piston today Release-teeth snapped and caved in I mailed WE to get some new ones I also tried those FE marksman nozzles with my grey cylinder: 1.6J to 1.1J so I cant recommend.
jal3
I think you can use normal aeg pistons though? SS'd. This is to be expected imho... Lets do some quick extrapolations. A normal AEG M120 aeg spring is, say, 9,5KG. A M120 PTW spring is even harder because it's so much smaller. The WE Katana uses a PTW spring. But it doesn't stop there. It's also shortstroked 3 teeth, requiring an even harder spring to achieve same muzzle energy. So you add those things together, and you get a massively heavy spring needed to achieve normal velocities. It wouldn't surprise me if the WE Katana M130 spring requires the same energy spend as a AEG M150 spring! And that's why it's bloody silly to put a plastic piston into this gun. Isamu
So better stick to blue/red cilinders or upgrade the piston for high power setups?
Mahonen
That´s the problem, Katana piston is much smaller than AEG piston. My caliber just broke so I cant get dimensions atm. I swapped M130 spring to my red cylinder. Much nicer sound than in gray one. I also made some experiments with spacers in spring guide when i got this gun few months ago. I could get over 2.3J out from gray cylinder. Just a few test shots. 1.6J is our normal limit for AEG
Isamu
Has anybody tried to use a regular upper reciever into a katana lower? it is said to be compatible, or at least a japanese shop modded a Dboys HK416 to fit the system, maybe VFC clones could work with slight modifications? Mahonen
I modded SHS PTW piston yesterday to my Katana, tested with PTW M150 spring, works like a charm Didn't take any photos yes but i will be making tutorial when i mod my second cylinder and piston.

KyleKatarn
So mahonen, could you please tell us how you modified the piston?
Halama
Nothing. You just need to buy new piston and replace it. There is no need to grind or cut something.
Ian24
It's a pity they didn't make the Katana system like a sort of drop-in for their GBBr receivers... Just like they promised like three years ago... Someone got experience with the GEN2 Katana's?
