Blackhawk Enhanced LBV- funny colour trim- orange? Deliberate/fixable?

Hi guys, recently taken delivery of a blackhawk enhanced LBV. 

 

Now, I've seen these before online and in films, but this one's got a weird orange color to all the trim- sort of orangey brown.

 

it doesn't seem like discolouration, as it seems pretty uniformly the same colour- it's the same colour on the back of the orange bits and front, and there's no different shades.

 

Just wondering what it is I have and if there's any way to dye it back to OD or dark brown without damaging the camo scheme.

I have an early Blackhawk Assault vest that is OD but the trim has gone orange over time and 2 M16 mag pouches that have done the same. All items are 10= years old.

Did you buy that off me? I've just remembered I sold one that had a similar colour, totally forgot about it. 

 

Hmm... how could I get it back? Dye?

Can't really think of a way to just dye the edges.  Only method I've seen to (slightly) alter the colour of nylon LBE using dye was to boil it in a big pot for a long time with plenty of Rit.

I'm sure you've ready considered krylon. But it's certainly what I'd do. Unless your going for a specific period look?

Let it out in the sun until it gets past to tan?

Sharpie pen. Brown one, that would work, you would just need to redo it every now and again.

That coloration is just Blackhawk's *suitcasey* Korean-made fabric, it is terrible about holding dye.

my Assault pack has the same color on the webbing. its a blackhawk from the mid 80's too. It doesn't bother me really though.

Mid 80s? I thought Blackhawk was founded in the 90s?

yeah you maybe right, I don't know, I've had it since 96ish maybe '97 and used it all through college as a book bag. I got it used back then and it came full of ALICE gear pouches and bits so I just assumed 80s.
