Tokyo Marui M870 Tactical Gas Tri-shot Shotgun- picture, text and video review

Recommended Posts

Ah, yeah. That happened to me first time I did it.

Guess it means not cocked when you put it in, Do apologise it was a couple of months ago and my memory is hazy! As for releasing the hammer I can't precisely remember how I did it, but I vaguely remember pushing something in the trigger block to release the hammer, because that is the thing that operates the safety or the thing that stops you from double cooking the trigger.

Edit: also explains why it's under tension when you put it in, it has to catch and push against the hammer, which tell you it's correctly in.

Afternoon guys.   This morning I was very lucky to receive my brand spanking new Tokyo Marui Remington M870 Tactical, from the good folks over at Redwolf UK.   This is a text/ video review for now

Chopped the barrel and added an ATI heat shield- quite happy with the result!

Guys I was more refering to TM OEM replacement parts and not nessecarly upgrade parts. Are these available or are even they hard to come by?

Tokyo Model Company have more TM parts than the average store.  They might be able to help.

If not, Pulse (Japan) can very likely help... for a price.

Still no luck getting it to release the hammer. :/

Now i feel bad for not really remembering how to do it properly and yet gave you advice. I'm sorry.

So i took apart my m870 and had a look and here is what i did to get the foregrip to slide forward again.

Now to get your trigger block into the correct location, you have to make sure that no.1 catches on no.2, remember this, because when you get it correct in, this will stop your trigger block from falling out.

The mechanism that is preventing you to push your foregrip forward is located on the left arm, no.3.

Now you can use a small flat screw driver to flip it down, but the easiest method i found is simply lifting the right arm up then push your foregrip, if it doesn't budge, go to the no.04 left arm and lift it up. Just be aware you will have to lift this arm again when you cock it again as this will preent you from doing so.

Now that you you have done it, you have to now cock your shotty again, but this time you must cock it all the way back until it clicks, hold it and now fit in your trigger block. now push the foregrip forward to complete the action.

Now just give it a go and fire the trigger. Sometimes if you don't hold the trigger block tight enough, the trigger will fire itself, thats fine, just cycle again just to make sure you can do it again.

Once you know whats going on, just reassemble the rest of it, just to be though i'll just walk you though how i did it.

i first fitted the receiver body over the internal, making sure i have my fake dust cover in place and the tiny sliver spring piece is in the metal guide.

I then slide the cover half way, just up to the dust cover. Now i fit in the spring into the silver metal part then carefully slide the cover further forward before stopping just near the end to fit in the fake dusk cover spring before sliding it fully on.

Now i will cock the shotgun fully until it click, fit in the tigger block then push the foregrip forward, before i put the last body pins, i fire the trigger and cycle it again just to make sure.

Then im done. I hope this helps Wildecard.

For the 2 people who care (probably very little as well), Wii-tech HK has produced a tube extension that is more accurate to the Remington Express Tactical version than any other brand so far (but not perfect).

Wii-Tech:

The screw cap is wrong, where as the G&P version's screw cap is closer to correct in that the knurling are strips as oppose to diamonds as seen in this version.

G&P:

Real one seen below:

So far I've got the Remington express tactical tube clamp, the screw (I had to buy the screw from else where, dafuq?), the breacher choke, the wii-tech extension which is on its way, and I already have the G&P one which I'll take the cap from).

I apologies for everyone else other than the 2 people who are mildly interested in the above.

Just out of curiosity, why would anyone want to dress up their gun as an M870 Express? Thats like, the cheap version of the 870 that you buy at Walmart. Why not a Wingmaster or one of the other nice ones? (Marine Magnum, anyone?)

Because living in a country with no Walmart or Walmart shotguns... I don't know the hierarchy of the Remington 870 models in the coolness scale amongst civilians... I just liked the look of it so I decided to build it as such...

*also because the TM 870 already has the same rail and ghost sight as the express tactical..

Man, your comment has saddened me, I'll go cry now.

Hey guys, I have been wondering what shell side saddle to get for this... I know the marui shells are fatter than the real 12 gauge ones but by how much? Can i just get a polymer side saddle and sand the insides for the shells to fit?

Also are the receiver pins in the same place as the real one, or are they off spec? (I remember the receiver being a bit shorter than the RS but all i care is the pin position so I can mount the shell saddle)

Thanks to Brigg, I'm now considering in sending the whole thing off to be electroless nickel plated, I mean, that tube clamp and the "correct" Remington extension is the same one for the Marine Magnum too...

Atsalakotos: the shells are quite a bit bigger, over 2mm, it'd be a nightmare to file it to fit, but quite a few airsoft brands are now making the saddles. Not sure about the pin position though, I can check tonight as I have the Tanaka 870 as well which is real spec.

Okay, thanks for the answers guys... Maybe i will just wait for the angrygun saddle..

In other news, i took it apart to install the G&P RAS forend but now it won't feed BBs and i am pretty sure everything is in place. (Also looking down on the feed port i don't see anything broken / out of place)

Anyone had the same issue? Any ideas what could be causing the problem?
