buy some velcro on ebay or something.  When I had a combat shirt made (just at a branch of SEW although I imagine any alterations place can do it) I brought down the BDU, T-shirt and velcro along with a crye shirt and talked the seamstress through exactly what I wanted working with the confines of the supplies and also a small sketch.

Worked out well.

Unless you happen to live in a garrison town I imagine you'll find it hard to find anyone who specialises in combat clothing alterations and will just know what you mean off the bat.

I sewed velcro strips onto my rucksack when I got it, and sewed in reflective strips recovered off an old high-vis jacket (I use it for biking not airsofting)

I then proceeded to crash at 50MPH, and it was just fine.

Every man should be able to sew, it's manly, really.
