renegadecow
http://redwolfairsoft.com/redwolf/airsoft/Gas_Blow_Back_Pistols_Airsoftsurgeon_Airsoft_Surgeon_Face_Off_V12_Limited_Edition.htm What did I say about oil barons? This guys cornered the market right from the start, but now they're sure to sell really well because GOLD IS BEST. GOLD. GOLD. GOLD. Pre-order at a whopping $1,396 each and if you're crazy rich enough to buy one, you gotta have two. And it's said that they're only making 50 pieces with the usual marketing terms thrown in like CNC'd, hand made, high quality, that sort of thing. BTW you can get those grips off some guy in Thailand (Ebay) for something like $40 shipped. edit: Ok, I can't find those grips on Ebay anymore. Maybe contracted him to make them and stop selling for a while? Who knows.
bankz5152
Jesus. Didnt Socom Gear make gold plated ones before? $120 + £30 for some engraving + $40 for grips and you have the same for a 10th. I bet they are actually Socom Gears lol. *Maybe* that price could be justified IF they where made from Inokatsu's
Inq Eisenhorn
I wonder who these guns are intended for! Surely not airsoft players....but if I were a pure collector, I'd sooner pay around half that price for a deactivated (I'm in the UK) real historic 1911. Again, I'm not knocking this gun or price, I'd just be curious to see where these products end up.
renegadecow
I'm guessing these guys aka too damn rich to care less http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yd10enP9ykM As for what is actually used, IF they got some top shelf kit like Inokatsu you'd at least figure they'd point it out as that'll help sell it. But they didn't so it can technically be anything as low as a Guarder that's been ported and refinished (said to be ProG4 though, not sure). Looking further, apparently the kit has been available for some time at $900: http://arniesairsoft.co.uk/forums/index.php?/topic/210701-sfa-v12-fmk-from-airsoft-surgeon/ So that's... about $500 for the base 1911 + Nova controls + an hours work putting them all together? hitmanNo2
All that money and they can't even get the colour of the mag release and grip screws correct...
kenxin
Saw this a while ago...long before Redwolf or AS facebook mentioned it.....where you ask? Enten http://www.enten.co.jp/AS-FACEOFF-BR.html, it's been there a while. I suppose the 50pcs refers to AS assemblying the kits. Meh.

renegadecow
Yeah, mentioned above. But seeing as how this is a completed unit and not just the kit it might pass off as news. Up to the mods I suppose. But either way, that's some crazy *suitcase* people are selling (and buying, evidently).
Squad 701
Saw this a while ago...long before Redwolf or AS facebook mentioned it.....where you ask? Enten http://www.enten.co.jp/AS-FACEOFF-BR.html, it's been there a while. I suppose the 50pcs refers to AS assemblying the kits. Meh. Hey there, That's the Brass version of the kit, now if they used that and you were Rich, then it would be fairly decent value, but it's the Aluminium Gold cheaper version that they are using if I'm not mistaken http://www.enten.co.jp/AS-FACEOFF-ALU.html
Crimson
meh i had the old pastic version then just bought the grips from ebay ! £150 all in per pistol !

PureSilver
Huh, is that the stainless steel one underneath? You can't anodize stainless steel in any meaningful sense; the chemical bath would dissolve the steel. I guess it's more of a 'plated' finish, maybe with a protective layer over the top. hitmanNo2
Yeah. It is titanium nitride coated. A type of ceramic coating. Sheriff have been doing it for years on their Face/Off kits.
AliceHKfan
only reason I could think of anyone buying Airsoft Surgeon these days = only method to get gun and just won the lottery (unfortately in my case I can't find any Nova Springfield Operator LDC kits anymore)

sharingan
i am wondering if real 24k gold were just or it`s just gold paint. the finish is not 100% correct...the middle of the slide (where the markings are) should be polished
LordElpus
i think you will find there is a watermark there. Redwolf by the look of it
FireKnife
All I want to know, do they come with a complimentary packet of Chiclets and a gold dragon clip? That would make the day for me. 'FireKnife'
Squad 701
i am wondering if real 24k gold were just or it`s just gold paint. the finish is not 100% correct...the middle of the slide (where the markings are) should be polished Two different versions of the kit were made, one aluminium Gold coloured and the other more expensive Brass finish. I don't think the Redwolf Special is the Brass version. Here are the links to both kits. http://www.enten.co.jp/AS-FACEOFF-ALU.html http://www.enten.co.jp/AS-FACEOFF-BR.html
sharingan
well in that case 1300USD is way overpriced for a gold colour 1911....24k gold elektroplating will cost me around 500€ per each gun
