uscmCorps
It's a cool concept gun. emp3ror86
My guess is that the cancer type would be a non-firing or spring gun. But someone with some japanese knowledge will enligthen us soon. It looks like an (even more) futuristic TAR-21. Not bad, but that price is too steep. (Good to know that there is a new GITS series.) rusTORK
ETA: What is a "Cancer Gun"? Your will soot from it and get cancer. Or your enemy will get. Or both. =) ???????? mean Model Gun Type. So, non-firing thing. Simple. Just use google translate to translate word or severl words.
renegadecow
Is this featured in the second episode? I don't recall it being shown in the first and haven't watched the second yet. Personally it doesn't really appeal to me as much as the older guns. Like it's not a Shirow concept anymore. Plus what's with the jumbo handguard? Could have shoved an under barrel launcher with all that space. About "cancer" for some strange reasone Google will sometimes translate the Japanese word for gun as that because "gan" (japanese pronounced/written gun in katakana) actually means cancer in kanji. So when they say model gun (moderu gan) it translates to model cancer. That's the problem when you have three kinds of phonetic alphabets for the same language.
evansy
Give it 6 months and someone will clone it. I'd probably be more interested if there was an actual picture not just screenshots and a quick rendering.

evansy
I still regret not buying one of those. They were one of the best guns around for irritating the milsim guys.
FireKnife
You can still get them I think . As for this thing at that price sorry but no. Just too much and it looks too much like a P90/PDR-C/FN2000 for me, not the classier boxy look that the older GITS stuff had. 'FireKnife'
bankz5152
I was excited until I saw that price tag!
Fatjock
I like it, and I say that as a die hard M4 fanboy (Ihave over 20 of the damn things, I think they breed). It has interesting lines and manages to look like a bulky tavor.

bankz5152
Looks like an RS Concept - Anyone know the name of the above? It was showcased at shotshow either 2013/14?
Gunmane
Sigh, always wanted a thundermaul too, but not the crappy trademark "S.T.A.R.S" we got stateside. Was going to be nutty and try to fit one of those King Arms "ak-like" magazines to one. Ah, the younger days... I stopped paying attention to ARISE, but I find it somewhat odd the logic of "lets give the new, "sleeker" GITS series more cumbersome looking weapons!"
Hanger
That's a concept based on the TAR21 by the same company who made it. http://www.israeldefense.com/?CategoryID=485&ArticleID=1578 Looks like an RS Concept - tumblr_m9g4aipOSR1r9khx4o1_500.jpg Anyone know the name of the above? hitmanNo2
Looks like the lovechild from a TAR-21-OICW night of passion heh.
evansy
Now I've seen that mock up I definitely don't want one. It looks about as ergonomic as a house brick and is probably about as comfortable to carry around.
tquilha
I'm not a big fan of anime, but the gun itself looks nice. That price tag put's it immediately out of my grasp...
Panzergraf
I wanted it until I saw the price...What's it called, anyway? IIRC the original GITS bullpup (from the movie) was a Zastava-somethingorother
NeoVeNoM
That price is very high indeed. But then again, If the build is hi-quality, durable with attention to detail, I might be interested. You know, like realistic disassembly of the body. But if it's just going to be a "bolt-and-glue" on resin kit like Poseidon, with a gearbox shoved up the albatros, I won't bother.
aznriptide859
Let's hope the resin isn't as weak and flabby as Poseidon's kits were. I've eaten Cheerios that were tougher than those model kits.
Horsem4n
the funny thing is that GitS Arise takes place before everything else in the series. its about the formation of section 9. why they are re designing established weapons is beyond me. i like it a lot (Arise), but its screwing up details between the experiences of the characters that was established in the movies and SAC. but then again, the entire series has quite a few continuity errors. there are 2 parts out with the next part out in june(there will be 4 parts total). each episode is an hour long. its really not that much content. NeoVeNoM
well according to the time line we are talking post WW3, like post 2020.
uscmCorps
Arise is marketed as its own series on its own timeline. That said I see it as fitting quite nicely as a prequel to either the movies or the SAC series. I personally prefer SAC over the two movies.
renegadecow
I wanted it until I saw the price... What's it called, anyway? IIRC the original GITS bullpup (from the movie) was a Zastava-somethingorother Looking at the website it seems to be merely called "assault rifle from GITS Arise". The one from the first movie was a Zastava CZN M22 while the SAC series had Seburo C26a and C30.
NeoVeNoM
the Seburo C26a would have been a better choice commercially. even the C30 (with working gl) is better known that this rifle.
