aac
Hi shooters, Meanwhile i am already pretty advanced in the next chapter of my project. the KAC NT4 QDSS (Quick Detach Sound Suppressor) altough it's an older model,(about 10 years ?) i decided to make it, because of its iconic appearance and i find he as a great "spec-op-factor" besides that he as also an impressive 680gr weight, the original suppressor its an almost completely welded part, wich i prefer above the more fancy airsoft versions. i am very curious about the influence on the balance witch such a weight at the front of the M4. i would also encourage newbies to check out al the previous parts of my project. Here the first pic's ; the QD casings, with flash hider And then it took a while before i made some pic's so you al lot a parts on one photo heat shield, fork, retainer ring, can and a pre-assembly
PureSilver
How did you make the heatshield? Rolled from flat like the real thing?

aac
How did you make the heatshield? Rolled from flat like the real thing? Nope, Its made out of a plain bar, because i didnt wanted it to be deformed due to the heavy markings al over the shield. first it was lathed, then i punched in the the markings. after that i pre-drilled the bar center , and drilled al the small holes then i milled and welded the fake joint. And finaly i lathed the inner diameter , to became a "tube" right now its still sandblasted.

aac
thanks again, for the possitive reactions, again. a new question, i am searching the exact weight of the real steel CQBR block2 , without the accesories. can somebody help me ?
aac
Here the today's progress, the welded "can" weights about 680 gram (like the real steel version) whats left is finishing the smal parts, and the flat black paintjob. on the photo's the "stil" brushed suppressor. aac
The finished NT4 QDSS, painted and weathered. Also ordered a Magpul PTS clone from Element, at Airsoftpeak feels perfect cost a little And a small general impression
aac
Last action in my project, I ordered this metal receiver from Big Dragon at Shooter Combat Gear. after a member (dont know anymore who) showed me this item I must say, with its $32 it's a real budget product ! And yes, i knew this before i ordered this item, and was aware about the possible quality issues. The receiver comes loose in a box, with all the parts in separate plastic bags, and without any manual !! The finish appears multiple small flaws, and imperfections, even damage ! But the most remarkable issue to me is the "spelling error" CLOT instead of COLT About the parts, they seem to be king arm's clones, and the wont fit without any reworking, the only part that fitted without any mastering was the fake bolt assist. The screw of the fire selector, was to long, and the detend a poor alu pin , i needed to shortenenen the screw , and changing the detent by a small bal. before i had a proper working fire selector. The supplied Ambi-magcatch, simply doesnt fit into the body, i needed to turn a small bushing, now it's just perfect ! The fake bolt ornamentplate, charging handle, and bolt catch are a real mess, and i needed to make some liners, and new parts. Right know i need to build in the gearbox, but still haven't got the time meanwhile the pic's so see, and judge for yourselves !!

aac
the final chapter in my CQBR 2 project First of al , the finished outer barrel, i punched in the markings, and sandblasted the barrel, then a coat of fosco "Graublau", and some weathering, was done On the photos; the Daniel Defense markings, (and also an experimental Surefire flashhider , and a CQD slingblock ), check the DD markings on the low profile gasblock. And finaly i assembled the Receiver, and build in the Dragon guns Gearbox (the only part thats remaining from the donor replica) I choosed for a pretty though, weathered look, i gave the bolt carrier ornament plate a thermic threatment to simulate heat wear and once again with the KAC NT4qdss (witch seems to be functional !!) I hope you shooters like my project
hitmanNo2
All that beautiful machining and you go for that receiver and grip? Tell me they're temporary right?
kojak
Excellent work as always, but the three prong FH556-RC is the civvy version. The SOCOM version has four prongs:
aac
All that beautiful machining and you go for that receiver and grip? Tell me they're temporary right? i presume you mean the markings on the receiver ? And with the grip the color ?
aac
Excellent work as always, but the three prong FH556-RC is the civvy version. The SOCOM version has four prongs: thx for the tip Kojak i didn't see it ! but it was a fast trial anyway , just for having a fast impression. in the future i wil try to make the surefire ussocom suppressor , and also a new military style flashhider. in this case ! hitmanNo2
i presume you mean the markings on the receiver ? And with the grip the color ? Yeah. The markings on the receiver. And the grip just because it's smooth and not one of their good clones. I guess the decent ones are hard to get now. Along with the PTS ones.
aac
Yes the markings, too bad, i know i wasn't so on reviews, or on the pic's of the webshop, is saw it when i opened the package it was a low budget receiver anyway, i consider it as an exersize , maybe i wil stil change it later. About the Magpull replica, i even dont know if there are other brand's who are selling an aeg version i was just wandering how it should feel, and it wasn't cheap indeed
