WE MP5k "Apache" - Initial Impressions.

Recommended Posts

Seems the MP5 is WE's most solid release to date. Only issue reported here was a barrel and bucking change. This should mean whenever they release the G3 it'll be a solid performer as well. WE's come a long way. B)

They should do it like the GHK AKs, no bolt lock yet still no fire after empty..!

Totally forgot about those! Despite having one! Thats the way to go!

Would like a G3 and we all know if WE makes a G3 the PSG1 would be next

I tought the WE AKs did that part better as it also let's the hammer go forward, so you get an audible click that you are empty.

I have a K and two A2s--one with a solid stock and one with a retractable stock.  One was a sale off a forum and was used.  The other two were from airsplat, which had imported small numbers of the K and A2 solid stock into the US.

Well I'll have a Kurtz PDW. Would be nice to swap it out for the A3 if I wanted to. No cross brand mixing, but swapping the trigger mech into a different front and upper. Although I suppose it seems a bit odd seeing as the lower is much smaller haha

Has anyone found that the hop adjustment wheel drifts position when firing over the course of the day? I don't think I had it with mine but the wheel is easy to turn, which makes me distrust it staying put!

Was fantastic to use over the Saturday, and 2 other people who were sat with me whilst defending a point both talked about getting one based on the sound and the look on my face

For the record the above post didn't work, the recoil unscrewed the outer barrel and the hop unit with it.

I used mine for a bit in the freezing cold yesterday and whilst it worked great mostly, I had one or two issues.

1. It kept chopping BBs in 3 round burst. Semi was fine. I assume this is because of the proprietary hop unit and barrel WE have started using? I've yet to take this one apart but got it 2nd hand.

And 2. my 3rd burst has turned into 4. I've read that this happens when one small spring in the trigger mech snaps. Does anyone know which part number it is? I'd like to have the parts needed to swap out before I take it down fully!

Here's the diagram from KY.

Also, did anyone find the front pin to remove the hop unit ridiculously hard to remove? I've watched a video that shows it's definitely a hammer it out Job, but mine is jammed in there so good that I'm doubting my eyes!
