CANSOF loadouts thread- JTF-2, CSOR, Canadian Special Operations.

Recommended Posts

Thought I'd start a thread here as there's not really anywhere else on this topic.

Been working on a CSOR kit for a little while now. Reference pics I'll post up tomorrow evening.

This is mainly CSOR-based. I estimate about 80% done.

Multicam is what's been photographed, but the cadpat sets it apart from the generic 'coolguy' kits so I usually run aridpat/Crye mixes in urban and cadpat TW in woods.

Kitlist:

Replica Mich 2001 standing in for a Rabintex ACH 3 (I'm waiting for a Rabintex Attack) with CADEX NV mount and petzl tactikka.

CP gear OTW shirt.

LBT 6094A with:
TAG 6x shingle.
TT admin pouch.
Paraclete double frag pouch.
Paraclete MBITR.
Paraclete 3x 9mm.
Paraclete small GP/IFAK.
WAS fold-up dump pouch.

Invader Gear crye copy cadpat trousers.

Mechanix gloves.

Kydex holster.

Still to get:

Blackhawk hydration pouch.
Paraclete breacher pouch.
'anada flag.
3x Large bang pouch instead of the double frag for 3x dynatecs.
Swapping the petzl for a surefire helmet light.
Rabintex Attack XL helmet.

Anyone else working on a CANSOF kit?

Looking Good There Dave, I like the way you have matched the colour of your Vest with the knee pads and the mud on your legs... :D ( could just be my monitor) Its nice to see a loadout that a bit different to the usual Seals Marsoc SAS etc

Cheers mate! Just seen your reply!

Scored a genuine CSOR-correct old style Coyote Tan LBT 9039A MAP (Modular assault pack) from Legit Kit. Accessorised it with 3x ASP trifold restraints, and 2x LBT old style coyote tan smoke grenade pouches.

Patches are an Airsoft Machine Shop IR Maple leaf and a Gear Whores Anonymous 'Bro do you even operate' patch. (I don't operate. It's a tongue in cheek patch).

I'm literally just waiting on two 2xM4 paraclete mag pouches for the front before the 100% CSOR-correct 6094A is done.

Hey guys was wondering if you had a good source for Cadpat Camo in the US or online, one of the guys I play with was looking for some? Hopefully this isnt too off topic for the thread, if it is I'm sorry.

88 issue so prior to any offical SF unit. The nearest would have been the Recce platoons of the Airborne Regiment and the PPCLI.

The flat top A1s? All the JTF2 guys in the mountains seem to be using regular C8s with the solid carry handle.

I can't tell you when those guys officaly racked those rilfes. No one's talking.

They didn't start being seen with them till Afganistan. They were in the official inventory long beofre that;

For winter warfare exercises I could also see them drawing hacker rifles just because of the less than ideal conditions.

Fair point, the ones in the snow with the DPM vests are the same guys as the ones in the desert with the hummvees so it's not an exercise, but I get the thinking!

I think the best rule of thumb if you're trying for a particular look but don't have much source material is that it's always safer to use older kit instead of the latest thing. A lot of those guys will stick with their tried and true instead of jumping on a bandwagon.

Good point and I'm told that when the flat tops came out they came with plastic BUIS that were junk.

The issue ELCANs did'nt really suit what that unit was doing so I woild suspect they chose to hang onto their previous hardware.

This is a subject that's come up for discussion before and no one has come out with a rock solid explanation.

There's some value to mounting optics forward like that, but I can't see why they'd continue to use full carry handles when there are smaller options.  But I am also interested in how common it seems for their eotechs, etc to be mounted on the handguards, while that is something you almost never see with US forces

The plastic BUIS are awful, horrible flimsy plastic. I figured that if they were using solid carry handles for so long, the older operators may have got used to using the sights co-witnessed and so left the DIS on there when they got the flattop uppers.

Can someone identify what coveralls they are wearing for the JTF2 "black kit"? Someone told me it's Anson Tactical Special Forces Assault Suit, but some of those pictures they don't have arm pockets, so I'm very confused now.
