I'm going to assume it'd need a smaller wad with less capacity but way easier to charge. Look forward to it a lot.. Edited September 28, 2016 by blobface
hitmanNo2
So similar in size to 2.25" RS shells?
blobface
Judging by another video they posted it looks like a standard shell externally, I think they named it small cartridge due to the smaller BB compartment to allow for more normal fill valve type shell. https://www.facebook.com/chikeung.lee.712/videos/10208911115789155/ Edited September 28, 2016 by blobface
hitmanNo2
Ah. I see. Clear from that video.
NonEx
I don't get it. Are these the new, revised APS CAM870 shells that will prevent putting real gun powder in them? The video is not very clear as to what is new? I like the idea of a faster fill method but if it messes with the load capacity and load realism I am not pleased... It's not shown in this video, though there were pictures floating around with redesigned bolts and shells. The bolts have a larger "firing pin" than the old bolts, and the shells have a larger release valve. Old shells are compatible with the old bolts, though not vice versa. These just seem easier to fill than the older models.
NonEx
The problem with those pics/posts (I saw them myself in my FB feed, pretty sure you are referencing the same one) of the bolt and shells are that it was exactly the same as the new Dominator shotgun shows so I think someone might have gotten things mixed up. Mistaking the Dominator design for the new APS design. http://arniesairsoft.co.uk/forums/index.php?/topic/216570-dominator-international-870-shell-ejection-shotgun-new-system/ In the video posted above when I freeze framed the primer/back of the shell in the video certainly didn't look like what you describe. PureSilver
Google Translate renders the following worrying transcript: "[Power] air shotgun test fire through the aluminum plate is sufficient to burst pig [...] This is what the brain can not say that idiot idiot knowledge? [...] The police fight the prostitutes." I think we need expert assistance.
Cesare
It doesn't look very converted. I thought it was a steel version? The receiver has the standard markings even the barrel doesn't appear to be steel? Maybe it works purely because of the short length of the 870p?
NonEx
I just posted about APS posting about something new in this thread: http://arniesairsoft.co.uk/forums/index.php?/topic/216387-aps-to-cancel-redesign-there-range-of-shoties/page-
AG1212
Does anyone know if this can potentially fire the 6 shot PPS shells?
AG1212
New APS shells are for sale on their website along with adapters. http://www.aps-concept.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=25_115&product_id=870 http://www.aps-concept.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=25_115&product_id=869 http://www.aps-concept.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=25_115&product_id=872 http://www.aps-concept.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=25_115&product_id=871 Edited November 27, 2016 by AG1212
IAmHated
hey gents, with the new smart shells are either of these adapters http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/a-p-s-smart-cam-870-co2-cartridge-charger-for-standard-cylinder.html http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/a-p-s-smart-cam-870-co2-cartridge-charger-for-88g-co2-capsule.html#.WJNHlvmLSUk compatible with hpa tanks for easier filling? or would i need to look for some other kind of adapter? cheers
IAmHated
also as a point of interest ehobby have a 30% discount on all aps products for Great Britain just a heads up
blobface
I got 25 of the new shells and sold the old ones for cheap, it's significantly more convenient than the old shells, the push valve is also much larger and closer to the surface, all welcomed features for people that want to do weird projects with these shells. IAmHated
yeah i picked up the sai 870 and about 24 of the new shells, been looking to pick up the sai variant for a while now and this 30% off was too good to pass up. Even if i get hit by UK customs it'll still only be around 2 thirds the price of buying it in the UK now i just need to find out what adapter is needed to fill these newer shells with hpa Edited February 4, 2017 by IAmHated
blobface
I don't see why the standard adapter they have wouldn't work for HPA, since it should have the same threadding as their stupid dual CO2 cylinder, which is also the same as 20oz paintball tanks.
IAmHated
ah ok awesome, i figured one of either of their adapters would fit a hpa tank, i was just unsure as to which would fit a hpa tanks threading. i picked up the adapter for the dual co2 cylinder so hopefully ill will be good
AG1212
Just make sure your output PSI isn't much higher than the standard charger!
blobface
^ what he said! Although I'm quite sure that Chinese Canadian dude on YouTube has demonstrated it working on full charge with maxed out HPA, don't want to be anywhere near one though.
NonEx
Is it this guy you mean? https://www.youtube.com/user/Chiinnature/search?query=cam870 Chiinnature (I always Google it as chi nature, gets you there as well ) ^^ has a load of interesting CAM870 videos. Or the awesome guy on Airsoft Canada forums (N-Force)? (awesome thread: http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=162618 ) Don't you dare warn me for cross-linking to a Canadian forum, aye? IAmHated
Yeah my tanks are regulated to 800psi so judging by the vids of that fella using 1200psi i should be fine. although from what I've read on here 800psi of hpa is not really equivalent to 800psi of liquid co2 so i may or may not run it off co2 depending on the performance i guess on a sidenote customs has released the sai 870 i ordered from ehobby so i guess in a day or 2 I get to find out what the glorious HMRC are going to charge me
BioRage
Anyone tried the new smart shells? Asides from the random exploding ones, how do they fair + time to reload?
