Algy Posted January 31, 2015 Report Share Posted January 31, 2015 As the title suggests, Type 89 (clone) double feeds when using midcaps. Hicap that comes with the gun feeds fine, as does a hicap M4 mag I tried. Problem arises when I use midcaps, either M4 or Type 89 .Could it be that the midcap springs are too strong? Worth noting that I replaced the stock hop rubber recently, but why would this cause only midcaps to double-feed? Any help appreciated. Link to post Share on other sites

Algy Posted February 4, 2015 Author Report Share Posted February 4, 2015 I tried loading and emptying the mags a couple of times, and left them loaded for a few days, but it didn't achieve the desired results. Turns out it was the hop rubber being too soft (?). Put the stock rubber in and the double feeding ceased, I'm sure the replacement rubber was seated properly but wasn't providing enough resistance.
