Pistol Builds - Interested?

Got Wood?

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

I am currently looking at expanding the business, and I spotted an area that no one is touching, which I believe could be just what a lot of people are looking for.

Currently, Mike Cripps has the market for building Hi capas to a very high spec. He does great work, and is very well respected for what he does. I have no interest in pushing someone out of what they are very good at. However, outside of Hi Capas he’s not interested in, cue me, and the Got Wood Shop.

If a UK service opened up, offering the following services, would you be interested?

Glock building service (TM, KJW, WE Possibly VFC/SA bases) both high ends & budget priced builds

Sig Building service (Tm, KJW, WE bases) both high ends & budget priced builds

1911 Builder (TM, KJW, WE bases) both high ends & budget priced builds

Repair/Clean-up Services

UK stock of High end parts (Guarder, Prowin/PGC, Detonator, Creation) for builds or for sale

On the budget priced builds as an example, trademarks can be laser engraved, to replicate high end kits, saving a lot of money on builds for people with a lower budget.

I'm a 1911 fan (or snob, you might say) And was quite dissapointed when ESC dropped the 1911 and went hicappa only.

Having a supplier of 1911 parts, magazines and the rest who can get those parts for a reasonable price like ESC used to would help me out no end.

Personally not so interested in work, as I do my own work these days, but given the current generation of airsofters there may well be a market for it.

The WE high power needs everything under the grips removed and the grips put on a different gun. Then change the grips.

(Told you I was a snob)

But from a serious point of view the internal parts are fabricated with quite loose tolerances, and the metal they use for the slide wears far too quickly. They are fine for a few hundred shots but wear out quickly.

The real problem is that upgrade parts for them non existent, so anyone looking at fixing the issues with the gun will pretty much have to start machining parts.

Hmmm.

Joking aside it does sound like pretty much all of the gun needs work in one way or another. Probably a bit too much specialist work for us to undertake for the size the shop is at the minute! I'd be surprised if WE didn't come back to fix those problems in the near future really.

We do the grips already, but machining new internal parts is a whole different ball game!
