renegadecow
Not far from it: the head marshal where I play once had a chrono busted by someone who shot at the LCD screen.
renegadecow
There's a local guy posting at local FB groups as well as the WE users group showing his badly worn chrome 1911. He's complaining that it's not really made of chrome but is merely chrome plated.

icolater
I dropped my brand spanky new I phone 6 into the toilet last night. It was in the pub so I was tempted to leave it in their but ending up getting rubber gloves from the bar maid. The lads thought it was great crack.
paranoiddroid
Isn't there a way to chrono using headphones and audacity?
Skarclaw
^I've heard of people using it to measure ROF though I suppose you could place say, a plate and measure the distance from the muzzle then use audacity to measure the times between the sound of the shot being fired, and the sound of the bb impact?
Cannonfodder80
It's doable the way Skarclaw mentioned, although this would only give you an average velocity rather than muzzle velocity. Iirc the equation is speed = distance over time
renegadecow
Well, with the distance and latency of the system known, you can put in velocity decay with wind resistance and compute for theoretical muzzle velocity.
Skarclaw
can use this a rough starting point too http://arniesairsoft.co.uk/forums/index.php?/topic/38192-velocity-vs-distance/
renegadecow
Just came from a verbal disagreement with someone who firmly believes that airsoft guns are incapable of reaching out to 100ft (30m). When challenged if he even actually plays airsoft, he claims he plays the role of a sniper which is how he's come to having this knowledge.

Can't hit frak all at that distance, but it reaches out that far.
Got Wood?
Even I'm getting 800m out of my AUG
hitmanNo2
That's some AUG.
ED-SKaR
That's a firearm AUG not an airsoft one.
Got Wood?
No, it was a reference to the other forum, where one user sworeblind that his AUG reached out to 800m. Some of you may remember it! Funny as hell

ED-SKaR
I'll have a poke at it, I'll replace all the pins with rolled up cardboard as that's the cool new upgrade on this thread.

renegadecow
Guy's all smug that he's found replacement o-rings for his GHK M4 and that they're the perfect size. Unfortunately they're silicone.
paranoiddroid
And why is that a problem? Sorry for being thick
renegadecow
Green gas has silicone oil which eats silicone o-rings. Also why KSC/KWA piston lids keep failing.
hitmanNo2
Silicone O rings will just swell and tear right?
renegadecow
If from the oil in green gas alone, I'm guessing it'll just swell. But if he oils it (as you normally would on any GBB) it could crumble out piece meal. I already warned the guy about it and should use nitrile or viton instead but he insists on trying it out having already spend a whopping $2 for them.
