sir naggedalot
My Son Designed this exact product almost two years ago:0) He's very happy his concepts been proven! http://www.theengineer.co.uk/lift-off-for-arcaboard-marks-new-dimension-in-personal-mobility/
hitmanNo2
What's the point of it? Of course it has no actual application in the real world but I'm struggling to see it as a stepping stone to something else. Or is it just for the sake of it?

TheFull9
Have to say, after all the designs that just use normal, boring, passé 'wheels' and the magnet tricks, I am pleased to see that.
sir naggedalot
While the Arcaboard is not very practical its better then this in my opinion! https://youtu.be/ZwSwZ2Y0Ops
sir naggedalot
Wow,not sure if its a fake but I suspect it could be real :0) http://www.theverge.com/2016/4/11/11406142/flyboard-air-hoverboard-franky-zapata
hitmanNo2
It would be cool it it was real but I'm pretty suspicious. Not quite sure why they would fake it though. No footage of it over land, likely to be edited from their water jet pack thing. When they show you the shot from the underside, it's blurred. Perhaps in a effort to obscure obscure something a competitor might steal, I don't know. No proper footage of takeoff/landing.
sir naggedalot
I think it's 100% real after studying it closely. Looks like four model gas turbine jet engines with fuel and ECU's in the backpack,I suspect it's over water for safety reasons and there's this video that mentions an up and coming record attempt. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xLXjAt26xB8 Will beat this easy peasy if all goes well :0) http://www.theverge.com/2015/5/27/8665479/canadian-smashes-world-record-for-longest-hoverboard-ride
