Mike 8-{>
Both FedEx and UPS have announcements on their websites about the introduction of new airfreight rules for Lithium based technology batteries from January 2017: https://www.ups.com/content/us/en/about/news/service_updates/20161104_battery_update.html And http://www.fedex.com/gb/learn/lithium-batteries.html In the UK we have had to deal with Royal Mail refusing "over the counter" parcels containing batteries. Now the other couriers are going to want to know too and will charge "Dangerous Goods" rates. In the UK you might think you wouldnt be affected but a surprising amount of courier shipping internal to the UK goes by air. As a mate found when a RIF he sent got impounded at East Midlands Airport on the way to Scotland from the SE.
paranoiddroid
AFAIK you are fine if the batteries are inside a device so... I'm not sure how that works when we have to sign an affadadit saying that the RIF is unloaded and stuff though and am not sure if unplugged but inside the gun is ok. there are specific services that dont use air transport but their something you have to ask for with RM its been a while since I have shipped a gat so IANAL and YMMV
