Horsem4n
So I am in a relitively unique situation where I only own BFG fast mag heavies, I think gen 2, and I'm on a really tight budget to feed my new sellout carbine (I built a Wolverine powered M4). So instead of buying new clone fast mags or other cheap mag holder options, I decided to look up how to make 7.62 fast mags hold 5.56 mags. I found nothing. So instead of looking harder I just did it. I took one and made it work. It's obviously not perfect and when it's set up to hold 5.56 mags, it's probably going to hold AK or M14 mags super tightly. it now holds any slab sided mag at the expense of making it a little more difficult to insert mags. Plus things can fall into the fast mag next to any smaller mag, so watch out for that, could make it hard to fully insert a partially spent mag involved in a tactical reload. So I modified my 2nd FMH and took pics this time. This is my leg rig, with the black FMH having already been modified and the FG one sweating it's imminent surgery. I found I liked the extra tension from the rubber bands, but that's all up to you. Also, I'm on my phone and I'm not up for too much, so I'm just going to post the direct links for the pictures. http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z200/iamtheflu/IMG_20161128_240727090_zpsjgoshkun.jpg The next few pics are how to disassemble a gen 2 FMH http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z200/iamtheflu/IMG_20161128_240857199_zpsrazwt0fb.jpg http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z200/iamtheflu/IMG_20161128_240923930_zpsmbkvwe3s.jpg http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z200/iamtheflu/IMG_20161128_241015368_zpswjyvzqtl.jpg http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z200/iamtheflu/IMG_20161128_241036902_zpsjnacw6ww.jpg Hold that open while prying the bottom apart like the next pic http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z200/iamtheflu/IMG_20161128_241223208_zps3rpfnqca.jpg Now it's in half! http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z200/iamtheflu/IMG_20161128_241259389_zpsmrej9f0f.jpg Next, you are grinding/filing/cutting down these below: http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z200/iamtheflu/IMG_20161128_241323856_zpsgzmptgk9.jpg http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z200/iamtheflu/IMG_20161128_241406861_zpsqlobzhiy.jpg To look like this: http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z200/iamtheflu/IMG_20161128_241708616_zpsbchmcrsn.jpg Or this: http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z200/iamtheflu/IMG_20161128_241715074_zpsxobsuka9.jpg And this: http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z200/iamtheflu/IMG_20161128_242056966_zps0xseqner.jpg Make sure to put a little bit of a bevel there on the leading outside edge. Notice how it tapers: http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z200/iamtheflu/IMG_20161128_242103574_zpsgdprk3m8.jpg Next, you just put it back together, cause you is done. If you need help with pressing the bottom clips back into position, pressing it together like this is how I did it: http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z200/iamtheflu/IMG_20161128_242657197_zpsuagapnqx.jpg The goal was to get the opening of the fast mag to close in a little more. There's now no plastic clips keeping the fast mag from being ripped outwards if something catches on your mag, but I can't imagine the plastic clips doing much for that anyway. To get the tension I wanted, I dropped the rubber band it came with to the 2nd notch and added a couple doubled over rubber bands to the top notch. Works great for me. http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z200/iamtheflu/IMG_20161128_243724245_zpsjpszscyv.jpg http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z200/iamtheflu/IMG_20161128_243842303_zps8u2yrpxp.jpg http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z200/iamtheflu/IMG_20161128_243946694_zpswfealojh.jpg Now I can continue to not play even though my list of excuses is even more miniscule. Tommygunn
Horse, Could you not use the 'IMG' link so that the image shows up in your post, it's a bit tedious clicking the links? Cheers, Tom.

Tommygunn
Also, I'm on my phone and I'm not up for too much, so I'm just going to post the direct links for the pictures. Didn't read properly, fair enough. Tom.
Horsem4n
I wasn't sure if the forum still accepted BB code and didn't want to go back to edit the links after posting them all with the BB code and finding out it didn't work. In the mobile version of our board, there is no text editing or image posting options to make it easy. Plus I had to go to sleep for work and I needed to do it the fastest way possible. Hey, I could have waited to post, but I'm autistic and needed to post this before going to sleep.
Katotaka
If you're on your desktop use something like "Imagus" on Google Chrome, I guess there are similar extensions on other browsers too.
