Tracer Units on GBB pistols

Has anyone attempted using a tracer unit on a GBB pistol? Was thinking of getting one for a NBB pistol project and was wondering if they are too heavy and would effect the cycling performance of a GBB pistol.

 

I assume that there is an issue for pistols that have spring guide rods (lack of clearance between the back of the tracer unit and front of the spring guide rod during recoil), so I'd likely have to use this on a KWC 1911 or WE P38 as there is little or no barrel tilt when these pistols fire. I've noticed that there are some shorter units that might not make the over-all length too long.

Hey! I use one on my tm xdm with a threaded outer barrel and thread adapter. Works pretty good since the barrel does not wobble too much

You using the Marui tracer or another?

You shouldn't have any issues.  People have been using Tracer Units on Pistols for decades...even the old models worked.

i run a tracer on a TM glock 17 but i use a

 

item 4 5KU SAS Front Kit Mount For Marui / WE G17 G18C Airsoft Toy GBB (GP-289) -

5KU SAS Front Kit Mount  which means no additonal load on the barrel
