Glock Build - Frame

I'm going to built 2 guns from scratch in the next year or two - an AR AEG and a Glock GBB.  The AEG I have a rough idea where to start and I've begun assembling a few parts already (separate thread for that build for sure) but the 9.. well I've no idea really.

The outline is that I want to go fairly high end, quite heavily customised of course, built entirely from parts as I mention.  What I want aesthetically is most definitely not a swiss-cheesed Salient Costa special with Gold bling; each to their own but that's not my jam, this is more the idea:  http://octstrategicstore.com/ca27/356/p-r-s/

I know I'll never get stock TM performance with a metal slide, but I want the efficiency and reliability to be as close to that as I can get in a custom package, this gun will not be a safe queen or wall hanger I'd like it to be my workhorse go-to in CQB and that's a pretty tall order vs my bone stock 226E2 because that things shoots straight and far and has never ever ever missed a single beat in the many years I've owned it.

At the moment I'm somewhat leaning towards the PTS slide kits (Ace1 OEM right?) but right now I want to sort out the frame because obviously if it's going to get custom cuts and/or stippling that will no doubt require sending off to a far corner of the world to get the best workmanship.  OCT seem to do decent work, but I think their stippling looks amateurish personally  when viewed up really close, especially with the multi-pointed tip they're using with each little grid.  If I'm going to do this from the ground up I want better than this:  (yes I'm being picky, but I don't mind spending the money to be that way).

The GM frames on WGC are looking to be the strongest option of what I've personally seen and this here is pretty damn close to what I'm envisaging: https://www.wgcshop.com/products?search_From=category&item=gunsmodify-polymer-gen-3-rtf-frame-for-marui-g-series-agc-style-black&search=special&rs=Pistol%20-%20Frame&catid=116&cat=807&view_choice=b

However that's OOS of course and they've charged $640 for the stippling alone and I'm pretty bloody sure I could send an airsoft frame to the US and have a really sweet extra custom job done for that much money, or an equivalent one done somewhere in the world for a fair bit less.  But if anyone has input on those frames in general I'd love to hear it.

The other 'maybe' is the Guarder Gen 2 frame - https://www.wgcshop.com/products?search_From=category&item=guarder-gen2-original-frame-for-marui-g17-22-34-us-version-black&search=special&rs=Pistol%20-%20Frame&catid=116&cat=807&view_choice=b

But I get the impression the Guarder won't be quite as nice to take to customisation as well as the GM, especially taking in to account potential air bubbles in the plastic.

I'm really just looking for any and all information any of you pistol gurus have at this point please.  Sites to look through for frame and slide options, any and all parts recommendations, good guides or place to go to learn, whatever you want to throw at me.

Well, laser "stippling" is the new thing so I would try to find someone somewhere that can do that as it would guarantee the most accurate and best looking stippling job you can get.

As long as you could supply reference pictures of what you want and possibly sacrifice a spare frame or two for calibration (airsoft frames won't melt at same temp as real ones).

And that WGC GM AGC stippled frame price... da fuq? :o

And finally some shameless self-promotion for my YouTube playlist of my Guarder Ultimate Custom Glock 19 scratch build:

$688?! Thats pretty ridiculous. I think with JB weld and Guarder frame they are pretty decent. And for $30 some dollars, buy like a dozen of them and swap once a year its still cheaper than that GM frame. I did frame work on my guarder frame with dremel and soldering iron and they work pretty well. The Papago's kit definitely looks to be using a modded Guarder frame and they did pretty significant machining to it to under cut the handguard.

The 688 usd price tag is a typo so don’t get caught up on that now.

I would personally get a guarder frame over a GM frame because of the fitment issues that the GM frame has... but that pre stippled & pre sanded frames is a nice touch from GM.

Have scratch built two G19's  and a G17 using all Guarder parts (with the exception of the G17 slide on which I used and APS SAI style slide-no trades but well made and a nice finish)..zero issues and these pistols have been shot quite a bit.

Based on this experience, I'd stick with an aluminium slide. I've used a steel slide on one of the G19's and it just doesnt get the same performance as the lighter slide. The steel does look and feel excellent, but I think it's just too heavy for a shooter thats going to be used in the field.

I want to switch my other G17 on steel slide to that new BBU to see if it helps. It can get through a real cap 17 round load but it won't engage slide lock. The G34 I'm building now probably will shoot pretty poorly seeing it has to use the D shape piston. That's mostly a really expensive paperweight build though. Lol

I'd go for either a WE base or a KJW base.

KJW if you want to run Co2, WE if you want to run propane.

If you're going to run propane, get a CNC lightweight blowback housing a la Guarder or UAC and you should be able to run ok in UK temps.

Just watching the conclusion video, the G19 does look pretty sweet overall.  I think I prefer the overall effect of the manual stippling with the way it goes around the curves of the frame, but I'd not seen the laser work before and it's definitely interesting.

Alu slide was definitely on the cards from the start, no doubt there.

Wasn't planning on having a base gun at all tbh, just TM spec parts for a propane-run gun.  Are UAC bits any good?

While I'm here if anyone knows of any really talented craftsmen/techs who really specialise in this subject (anywhere in the world, I'm guessing HK will have some good ones) or FB groups etc that are super specialised, throw them at me.  I know there's some folks in the UK doing good work on AEGs, PTWs and TMs but never seen anyone doing properly high end stuff to pistols.
