Wow this was unexpected. According to KY Airsoft it is a 300 round gas drum mag compatible with the G-series, 1911, Hi-capa, M9, and M4.
WE was testing out some drum mags the very start of 2017, but nothing like this. Guess the P08 snail mag didn't stick

They're still making the snail drum, but I suspect it wasn't easy to fit to a double-stack pistol magazine.

That being said, this drum looks like it'd fit most of the GBB rifles that WE makes, so that should be fun. :D

Seems like it'll make some interesting builds, but i kinda wonder why they chose to make it look like a battery pack for a cordless drill. Maybe there will be different colors though.

Different colors are supposed to be available. I think the red is just to match AW’s color scheme

Update, KY put out a video on their Facebook, gas efficiency looks fantastic. Manages to get about 350 on a single fill (about a fourth of a can of green gas), and with constant full auto the last 50 or so rounds it starts to loose consistency.

Plans are to make it for most of not all WE/AW pistols, even the more unique modes like the PMM. Most if not all WE rifles are confirmed too. G36 was mentioned specifically, not sure if the Scar H would work considering the size of it.

Inlet valve is the same as WE/AW glock inlet valves, so drop-in HPA valves should work without issue.

Up for pre-order now with a $50.99 deposit, final price is around $132.00

Current options up for order are for the WE M4, M9, 1911, Glock, and Hicapa.

Dude, we all know there are Drums with HPAs, but whats the point if its not with propane?

Oh everybody knows? So sorry, I figured I'd save somebody the time, money and effort before going with a gas AK/rifle drum mag.
As it will work like a wet towel on a rifle.. Sure the seller/developer could show video's of great efficiency, but we all know that it won't work in game like that, unfortunately.

(disclaimer: not to throw dirt, for a pistol it might get along nicely, I just hooked in on the AK drum part ;))

I will admit, I haven't seen an HPA hicap/drum thats factory manufactured.  Its most likely because we all have different hose attachment systems and HPA rigs that performance would differ according to requirements.  But its common enough to be seen on the field.

The difficult part is making propane powered drum mags with with existing GBBRs.  On some GBBRs their internal efficiency is good enough to have 15 round dumps without much trajectory variation and with some more work their efficiency can be improved.  However there is a limit.  Bolt weight, recoil spring tension, flute valve spring tension, hammer tension, gas striker reset distance, and bolt travel distance, all comes into play, and unfortunately those have NOTHING to do with the magazine design.  Only factor which would determine gas "efficiency" are; propellant capacity, metal to air contact, surface area, and release valve spring tension.

So if I was to design a drum mag I would be looking at a platform thats already quite gas efficient, such as the WE G36 (heaven forbid since it doesn't feel like a G36), or design a GBB MG from grounds up (M249 GBB).
