Just noticed the electroplated black version so that's 4 finish options now. Might be the studio lighting but the case hardened version looks awfully gaudy compared to the trade fair pics.

Yea I noticed that too, the electroplated black looks a bit dull so I went with the gaudy one, hopefully it looks more like those trade pics though lol.

Might be without gas on those pics. For some reason Marushin made the SAA with the hammer directly impinging on the valve so it has to stay a few millimeters back when gassed up. On their Super Blackhawk however they were able to engineer a transfer bar system that disengages the connection when the hammer goes fully forward. It's not about size either as they were able to cram a similar system in their J frame revolvers.

edit:

Just wanted to add that Tanaka addressed the issue by having a bounding hammer go a few millimeters deeper into the frame so the hammer at rest would look normal

Possibly because the Ruger Blackhawk has a transfer bar system unlike the Colt 1873. ;)

Yeah but this is not a replica of the actual system on the firing pin. It's on the valve purely for airsoft functionality.

More on the King Arms, saw the review by that French guy on YouTube and it's made me considerably less excited. Not only does it carry over the limitations of Marushin (low fps, no hop up) it's also very inaccurate with problems in either cylinder or forcing cone timing.
