Looking for info of a UK anti terror unit

Since most sites close by are urban, and I like being a Medic, I think going for something different than Pj or other military paramesic might be interesting.

In 2015 the UK held a large anti terror excercise in London. Foto's were shown of urban paramedics clad in deep red, almost Bordeaux full plate carriers and uniform.

I've yet to find more info on them.

Don't even know if they're even part of Le/Military and armed.

Anyone has info for a similar build?

Ta

You’ll often see police medics at football games etc where there’s the expectation of rowdiness and injuries.
I don’t know but it would seem that this capability could also stretch to firearms units within police, they may have a selection of team members who are also medically qualified and can step into that role if required.

Recently went to a meeting at Twickenham whilst a training exercise was on. Didn’t get to see anything but there were a lot of regular London ambulances there, which makes me feel like standard ambulance staff are trained to step up in times of crisis.

The ambulance service has various stages of staff that relate specifically to a size of incident, so you may find a silver commander paramedic may step into that role.

This is all speculation, I do not know anything concrete!

I'm guessing you're thinking of a HART.
Not many images from a quick search, but I found this.

Would that be the colour?
Yes! Both reddish and that green actually!
Thanks a bunch, ye all. More info is welcome but at least I have a unit to Google, now. Ta!

Glad to help!

I don't think the red is used now, but I could be wrong. I've not seen it for a while though. I think it was just a London thing too, not national 😀

I see.

Man, there are loads if regional/local medical emergency forces other than the usual ambulance/firedept. Even here in Belgium. One Way better equiped than the other. No 2 the same.

Seems a tad stupid? Why not bundle them all? Join alll efforts?

Perhaps I just need to return at my original Jp / military medical corps idea.

Merging forces/trusts would mean a huge group of people to be managed, and there are far too many bosses now who think they should be the chief.

Internal politics wouldn't allow it. Add to that that some forces are wealthier than others through things like council tax, and the richer ones would effectively have reduced funding so wouldn't sign up.
