HamletV
Guys guys, my vsr 10 receiver it's old, the paint is chipping and the sweat of my hands dissolves the paint too. I have tryed rust oleum paints on some other airsoft metal parts for testing But it doesn't work. There's any kind of paint that stick to the pot/aluminum, and how I can protect the finish of the sweat?(I don't like to use gloves btw)
renegadecow
You'll need a 1k etch primer for painting aluminum and zinc alloys. You can also use alumahyde which already has its own etching component. It's a bit of a pain though as you'll need to strip the old paint and scrub off the oxide layer with a steel brush before painting.
HamletV
After the primer, I can use any black matte spray paint? Or I need one in specific?
renegadecow
Any will do but if you want something durable try looking for acrylic epoxy paints.

renegadecow
As a protective top coat, sure. Just note that all polyurethane clear coats turn yellow in time.
