Review: TMC 3465 Stretch Mag Panel (Crye style)

1.0 Introduction

The most common item of the Plate Carrier is probably the front panel, also called Placard, mostly a Triple-M4 Mag Pouch, variant such as Flap, Open Top, Stretch, or Rigid.

For my own Plate Carrier project I chose this TMC Triple Stretch Detachable Mag Panel (TMC 3465-MC) based on the Crye Stretch Detachable Flap. 
With this choice I actually went a bit against my own principles, where I normally choose repro's of items witch are frequent used in reality.
Turns out this Crye Stretch Pouch is extremely rare "in the wild

Ironically, this pouch is featured in the CBS series SEAL TEAM, more specifically on the character Brock Reynolds , 
apparently the actor is friends with Caleb Crye, and in this way do some advertising,

2.0 TMC Triple Stretch Removable Mag Panel

Also known as TMC 3465-MC is based on the Crye Detachable Flap and available at Weapon 762 for €27.99  (only in MC)

It's a brilliant, yet simple, design which can actually be spoken in a few points.

• Just like the Crye original made from lightweight Cordura and Stretch fabric (only 140 grams)
• Due to the use of the Stretch fabric, this Mag Pouch is extremely universal, carrying both 5.56, and 7.62 mags in every other kit item imaginable.
• Minimalist stretch design allows for an extremely “low profile” front end (a maxim in Plate Carrier Set-Ups that requires being low to the ground, taking cover)
• Provided with extra (removable) Shock Cord Retentions, if desired, or undesired.
• The Semi-Rigid tab design allows for “one hand mag insertion”!
• Compatible with the JPC, AVS and LVS type plate carriers

The TMC Stretch Mag Pouch can contain both 5.56 and 7.62 mags, although it is best not to change too much, as the pouch is quite stretched with the 7.62 mag.



Fully equipped with Velcro on the back

2.3 Attachment

This is done by means of the attachment straps and Velcro on the back.



For my own set-up i have the shock cord retention's removed
