Dude, the edit button is your friend.

The only pic of the 2hit6 guys in the respirator has the tinted 'anti-flash' lenses which ARE ballistic rated.

Fareast, put it this way. I would not trust a standard S10 lens in any form of skirmish. You only get one pair of eyes, it is NOT worth taking a chance with them.

In the end it's up to you and the site organiser, but I would reccomend doing the 'point blank burst' test before wearing them into a game.

Cool.

I know it sounds like I'm preaching to the converted, but I've seen what happens when these things smash.

It's not pretty.

A dude came to FFS with a set and planning to wear them, and the site organiser asked if they'd tested them. The owner, very patronisingly, said

these are ballistic rated, I'm sure they can handle a bb or two.

The organiser just smiled, and said "Well you won't mind if we test them then. Ghost, come here a second."

I wander over with my tuned g36c, we put the S10 against a tree, and I fire a five round burst into it from three feet. After 3 hits it shatters quite impressively, spraying shards of glass all over the floor.

The thing is we are not allowed EAG's for the indoor games we play. As i said before Pistols and Shotguns under 0.8J.

i have the definitive answer guys.

they wear BLUE.

AND HOW DID I COME TO THIS CONCLUSION?

because there is no actual BLACK color as it is merely the absence of light.

"black" is actually a VERY dark shade of blue.

BADABING!

you will find this is the same answer you will get when you ask if the SR71 is actually black.

erm actually Black is not a colour but a pigment and the pigment is real.

i said it wasn't a color. i said it is the absence of light [and therefore the absence of color].

the black pigment is primarily created using carbon compounds like burnt organic materials OR, as in the CMYK system, which is considered to be the more accurate system for pigment creation, the K, or TRUE BLACK, is created through the mixture of cyan, magenta, and yellow pigments.

BUT, you will find that most of our current clothing, such as our black BDUs, are creating using some variation of a very, very dark blue [and you will notice due to some cheap dyes that some BDUs will actually fade to BLUE after numerous washes. the others, which fade to grey, fall under CMYK pigmentation, which as i explained previously, is still a mixture of all colors, though primarily cyan [or blue].]

so then, is black a color? nope--it's just not reflecting any color.

i don't suppose you could say the night sky is black due to a pigment?

ne ne?

back on topic: i reckon if you just wear the gas mask most ppl will just go "oy! it be an SAS!" :)

Isnt black just an abscence of colour? Therefore it isnt a dark shade of blue, its just a dark shade of... well... white if anything!

No but a bit like So19 (better IMHO).

Quaaalittttyyyyyyyy!!!! *worships razer*

So what are you then? Oh and could you kick swats *albatross*? :D

And I guess maybe SO19 wear blue but you guys wear black? Then again all the SO19 pictures you see are always with them in black...

I have never seen a pic of SO19 in black, in SO19 there are Armed Response Vehicles and Specialist Firearms Officers, in ARVs are teams of 3, 2 of which have MP5s and the SFOs are the guys abseil down the side of buildings, back on topic, for CQB the SAS don't use assault vests

The "airport"police are no longer a dedicated police force (Like the Transport Police) in and before 1976 (IIRC) there was a dedicated BAAC (British Airports Authority Constabulary) but this ceased to be when it was decided they were NOT crown servents and couldn't carry firearms. These units were then phased into the local forces (sort of, look at East Midlands Airport for a strange example) and dealt with by their firearms units.

Royalty Prot carry firearms, as do Special Branch, Special Escort Group, and a whole host of other units (and that's just the MET)

MOD Police Force, CNC Police Force and Northern Ireland Constabulary are all armed forces.  The SO groups are also armed in the UK. ;)

Nice to see someone so well informed :D
