Prometheus
Ok, I've noticed that the Moderating team has been nice enough to fix bad reps for members, including myself, when someone has rep'd you wrongfully. Now I think it would be alot better if the Bad Rep Points were moderated. This would be like when you give a bad rep, it sits in a kind of limbo until a moderator decides it is suitable for a bad rep. I know this has probably been talked about before and put down, but really.........it is needed. This problem cam to my attention when over the past few days, people have been bad reping me for my opinions and for guessing at things when they havn't been answered after being up for several hours. Please, moderators, think about this. If you don't think you would want to do it...then make a moderating team just for that. If you made a team of like five or six people to do it...then it would...hopefully....only be around ten bad reps a day to verify and approve. Please consider this new idea. But please don't bad rep me for it! ~P
airsoftfreak14
I think this idea is good, I got flamed a while back and I deserved it.
DrewLawson
So did I.
elrey
I don't think a little insignificant number like that is worth the time of the mods to control like that, given how much time and work they already put in.
Prometheus
So, you guys are in favor of it? I know I am. Too many people use the rep system for the wrong reasons and it ends up giving the moderators a lot of extra work to clean up the rep system. ~P
Sledge
By the same logic, should the whole system be moderated? Look at the number of rep points some people have for no good reason. I say leave it alone. If you need to know about someone's rep, go and read the comments left with a rep point.
Prometheus
Well, you are right sledge....The team could moderate both. Look at all the reps put up per day and see if they are for good reasons. ~P
Sledge
Apart from the number of people that would take, it's a plan.
Prometheus
But what about the ones who would. I mean with close to 7,000 members.....there are alot of us who just hate how the rep system is used. ~P
elrey
But is it really that important?
airsoftfreak14
People get flamed with about -6 rep points some time and they only deserve half that.
Prometheus
Yeah, for things like double posting. LOL I think it would really be needed. ~P
Chris P
It would take up far too much time to moderate every single rep point made in a day. I think the mods have enough work on their plates already
Prometheus
Well, thats what I'm saying....make a special mod team of around ten or fifteen people to approve each one to keep the useless and/or revengful reps from getting through. ~P
Sledge
OR treat the rep system as a bit of fun. Saves a lot of effort.
Prometheus
Well, it is just that so many people use the Rep System in the sales section and in trusting people with their advice and orders. I think that there is alot of great people on here who have a moderatly bad rep because of stupid stuff that could have been avoided if we had a RedMod Team. ~P
Sledge
Like I said, read the feedback. Plus, there's Good and Bad Traders threads for sales feedback. Sorry, just can't see the point of Arnie and the Mods (new album out now) going to the bother of vetting every rep point. And who wants to moderate just the rep system? Prometheus
I will. I've contacted R22Master about it and he seems to like it a bit. I would offer my time up for it. I think it is one of the most important aspects of Arnies Forums. ~P
PlasticMag
I'd loooooooove to.
Prometheus
So, we have lined up so far....if Arnie will let us. Prometheus Airsoftfreak14 PlasticMag Anybody else? ~P
Lord Jebus
I'd do if I wasn't just some random person who would love to help but only has 100 odd posts...*cries*, I wanna be a mod!
Chris P
Somehow I doubt Arnie is going to let random people moderate any part of the forum. As with most forums Mod status is an invitation only affair and not up to the users to decide who becomes a mod.
airsoftfreak14
I don't really think I'd be a mod, I only have around 250 post and I could be considered random
Haji
Don't take the rep thing too seriously. Its kinda important, but it doesn't define who you are as a person. It's not worth the effort to moderate. Its only rep points, after all. On a lot of forums, its not a good idea to a) ask to be a mod and not a good idea to ask for a custom title. Bad things happen when one asks for such things.
