Speaking of MOE, i was under the impression they used the vicious looking 2 pronged hooligan bar above sledge hammers, mainly becuase you can pry with them too. and although i'm not hard nut sas (obviously  ), i wouldn't fancy legging it round with a sledge hammer strapped to my back lol

Cheers

Mig

No it isn't, in the 80s the SAS didn't use maglites. Nowadays they can use whatever torch they want to on their MP5, yes mig-eater they use crow bars aswelll as sledge hammers but I didn't name them all because they would be useless for airsoft

The Pictures I've seen and the reconstructions on documentaries with advisors who where their and took part clearly show 2 perhaps 3 D Cell Maglites in claw mounts on the MP5's. When talking about the op they clearly say thinkgs like "We entered the room pinged him with a torch and opened fire".

Why would they know choose to use a *beep* torch like a maglite which is to big and heavey and upsets the balance of the weapon, when they could use a forend mounted Surefire which produces more light in a focused beam with no dark spots. The maglite option was used in the eighties because it was all their was, now their are much better options and the CRW boys use them.

They can use any commersially available torch, I saw the pic and the guy has a maglite on his five, in the 80s the Regimenat did not use maglites they used another type of torch, and if you put a surefire (or something of the likewise) bulb in a maglite it can be just as bright and not as expensive to set up as a surefire, if you look at pics of the Embassy siege you will see that they did not use maglites.

about handguns, what about usps, glocks? also some of them used m93rs (prob not past 2000 though)

does the hi-power have an extended mag?

and i can confirm, that well, for certain around '95 some had maglites on scope mounts and i know that for a fact as right now i am looking at a dated photograph of one, in the sas illustrated history.

Glocks and USPs aren't issue, I was suprised that they used the 5.7 to be honest

but usually sas can pick their weapons for each individual mission, cant they? and i have seen pictures of sas with glocks (i think) and what looks to be the bottom (mag plate) of a usp in a holster.

I don't understand how any terrorist thinks that they stand a chance against the men in black.

true

one thing for certain that they use, is the mp5s listed, the browning hp and the sig. thats a definate.

they dont only use the l96, the did use the tikka finlander .223 in the '90s. And a g3 as a sniper rifle (date unknown)

also the arwen (fires gas grenades and grenades) for those who ddon't know what it is, its a six barrelled revolver style grenade launcher.

They can choose their weapons but for anti-terrorist work is mainly standard issue to have MP5 an P226, some use G36c and some use 5.7 but with the quality of P226, glocks are rarely used and USPs virtually non-existant within the regiment.

yeah, but the p226 and the glock fire the same round, the glock has a higher mag capacity, the glock is always safe (because of the trigger safety) and both practically never jam. So why the p226?

and i wouldn't really expect the usps. Hps were used a lot in the '80s-'90s and i really do think that the mp5 is much better than the g36 (i dislike g36s very much)

So what makes you think the P229 SAS has anything to do with the regiment then? The British Special forces do not tend to have weapons developed for them they tend to use existing tried and tested designs like the Hi Power or the P226.

Me probably, some people think that I make stuff up because I am 13, the stuff on the first post is all from one book

all of the stuff i posted is from one book. And thats just stupid that people think you make stuff up because your thirteen. I'm thirteen to and i don't make stuff up and i doubt that you do to.
