Recommended Posts

might want to try the new utg mp5

it comes with the a4 and a5 stock and two hi caps

its about 100 usd cheaper than a marui and ive heard from multiple people that the quality is very similar if the the same as a marui

a friend told me that it was tested and after 2000-3000 rounds the utg mp5 still shoot very well

if your not to serious about getting into airsoft this might be a realy good pick for you

Right, I've read shedloads on this site and I'm (nearly) sorted in what I'd like to get but I'd like some feedback (if ok with peeps) on my choices and why.

- I'm a sniper at heart and my priority is accuracy.

- Something that can take a scope/lasersight/both

- Something rock solid reliable but isn't an AK-47 (I really dislike the look and the mag will get in the way if I'm prone)

- Ideally something where I can easily adapt to a new situation (if I'm covering as a sniper and then I need to go into CQB and potentially need some ROF)

- Solid metal construction, I like my baby to remind me that I'm holding her rather than being a featherlite plastic thing.

I'm thinking of going for the TM FAMAS as it deal with most of the above reasons I've heard thus far. I'm a bit worried about the mag ejection though, how bad have people found this?

Now I am prepared to go another route but that will require advice that I'm not sure of.

CONFIG;

* Sniper Rifle (spring) with scope

* Pistol sized AEG with a high capacity and can fit in a leg holster

I know this isn't the place to ask about the rifle but what would folks recommend in the above configuration? Is my first choice (FAMAS) the best? Am I limiting my choices and making my life too difficult by going the second route?

Many thanks in advance, and the reviews thus far in this thread have been a huge help in my shortlist.

(In the ideal world I love the look of the G36C but I think the FAMAS pipped it at the post due to practicality over looks)

Hokay.

Sniper is a very special mindset. So is "sharpshooter" (which is what most wannabe snipers actually are)

FAMAS am best. Apparently. :whistling:

The AUG is a good all-round choice as well, if heavy. It benefits from a tie-wrap to hold the all-metal upper receiver to the plastic stock. The FAMAS hsa been know to creak on.. well, whenever not buried in concrete.

Pistols aren't generally needed for Woodland (although that can vary. Generally trumped by a grenade, to be truthful)

An AEG (FA-MAS or not) is a good choice, as you can get to be mad-nutter-b*tard as well as sneaky-beaky-sniper. With the same rifle. In the same game/day.

If you're thinking about a sniper role, then emulate (either with your own "weapon" or someone else's) without actually buying a specialised rifle.

I'm old. I'm cheap. I tend to only buy things that I'll use; some younger Airsoft players buy and then regret (mind you, that can be a good source of G-Specs! :D )

I havent seen much mention of TM M733. Its my first AEG and I have had no problems with it. Its small enough for cqb but has a long enough barrel for good accuracy in woodland play. Also takes a lot of the same accessories as the m4 (though some of the barrel mounted ones wont fit due to it being slightly shorter) so it is relatively easy to customise.

If you are board of armalites and want something different i would firmly reccomend AK47 in any of its varieties.

my 2 cents worth

Ok. How about the TM M4S-System. Not only will it take a lazer & a scope but will also take a bipod & a torch. Not forgetting no barrel wobble.

I'd have to say that the Tokyo Marui AK-47 Beta Spetsnaz is the best newb gun. I've been playing airsoft for 3 years with this gun and it rocks! Going to upgrade it soon and enlarge the foregrips as they are a bit too short. Its built like a rock and has a very good ROF. I've used and abused this thing so much and it still runs like new. It is also a good newb gun because it has a 250 round highcap right off, and then later you can switch to 150, 70, or 30 round mags. This gun also has a large battery that lasts a long time. Since a lot of beggining airsofters are usually young and smallish, since this gun is relatively short it is very nice and compact.

UTG mp5.

2 of my friends have them. i'd say they are awesome for the first aeg since they are cheap and are quality tm copies. oh shortyusa had them on sale for $110 (came with a battery, a charger, and 10 clips (yes 10 clips).)

CA36C.

i don't own one <_< cuz i'm broke :( .

they are supposed to be really durable. CA36C can take an a$$ whooping and you can pick it up and it'll still work like new. its also easy to upgrade with lasers and such. another thing is that its already upgraded, so tampering is needed. its werd.

Famas F1 or SV.

since too many of my friends have MP5 and i'm too poor for an CA36C, i'm going for the TM Famas F1. the bullpup system gives you a longer interior barrel for accuracy. since the barrel is "hidden" it makes the gun smaller. its rof is fricken wicked, so it being stock isn't going to be a problem.

i'm getting me a Famas ^_^

FA-MAS is good, but If you want a platform for sharpshooting then the CA33E is IMO the way to go (I have Both). The 33 far outstrips the FA-MAS in power and range out of the box (330fps as opposed to the 265fps managed by my FA-MAS) and feels a lot better due to its very high metal content, unfortunately of course the CA33E is £90 dearer.

FAMAS :D

-Cheap

-Extreme rate of fire (just get more than one hi cap if you run out to often)

-Great out of the box accuracy. (Ask anybody I play with, the second they hear my FAMAS discharge a bb, 99% of the time, you will also hear a "Hit!" :D )

-Great hi cap mag capacity. (one hi cap generally lasts me about 12 games, no joke)

-Both right and left handed gun

-I own three and have never had a single problem. (and I don't baby my guns, he he)
