NavyMP, are you one of the guys that played at the housing complex outside of the New London Subbase in Groton, CT back in around March? You look familiar...

Yeah that was I :) You should see the lot now...nothing there.

This may be a more stupid question... but where do you get Sharpies in the UK?

Also, great loadouts Havoc and Navymp28, that vest (ISSAK?) looks really wide and uncomfortable though blink.gif

Not really, it is actually really comfortable. Even with the flotation foam still in it. I like it alot. The only problem with it is that I can't find any info on whether or not MARINE infantry and the normal troops get to wear it. I know SEALS do..seen enough pics and videos with them useing them. The ISSAK is a sweet rig.

I am looking into getting some more SAW/60 rigs. The one I want next is a COMBATKIT brand chest rig and vest.

cos I'm British I've never been that interested in the details of US special forces but even though I know they're called 'Navy' Seals I'm rather surprised that most of them are recruited direct from the navy rather than the marines - simply because although i know all sections of a military recieve combat training I would've expected the main emphasis of training for navy personnel to be in the operation of a vessel - I guess what I'm trying to say is I'm surprised an organisation like the Navy - by its nature - is able to produce some of the toughest all-round combat troops in the states, and indeed the world when compared to the typical training of, for the sake of argument - the army and its resulting special forces divisions such as Rangers and Delta Force

I imagine (not 100% sure) that many of the British SBS members are navy but then their not as good or active as the SAS - although I think there's plenty of crossover between the two as with alot of special forces worldwide

-sorry for going offtopic a bit there

I am going to say something on this..off topic as it is. The US NAVY has quite a few ground oriented units as well as combat oriented units as well. The Average sailor does go to a ship but there are so many jobs it is crazy. There are the US NAVY Seabees that work with the corps and have intricate combat training. They usually operate in areas that are on or behind the lines so to speak. They are responsible for their own protection and must be capable of breinging the fight to the enemy if need be. There are also Naval Master at Arms (MP's). So there are rates in the US NAVY that lend to ground combat and thus the SEALS do have a pool of combat minded troopers to get candidates from. But mainly the peopel that try to become SEALS are some of the strongest minded people in the world. It takes a hell of alot to be a SEAL. And back on topic..

Hehe, I have the video that's pulled from. It was a 60 Minutes episode called 'Hidden Battles', and followed a SEAL Team in A'Stan when they captured (ok, shot and killed) Rosie Khan.

More info HERE. The video on there isn't bad, but the full report was about 9 mins long.

Oh, and the reporter is HOT.

My SEAL loadout:

<Img snip>

Why the M249 in a seals loadout? From what i here seals usually stray away from SAWs and when they do use them they use the SEAL version of the M60.

Oh and heres my SEALS Picture (Sorry its big)
