from what I hear, shoei s working on an FG42 airsoft version.

Are they now? That would be something...I wonder what they're thinking of pricing it at. They make really good replicas, I know they made a replica of the FG42, looked really nice, as well as their K43, that would be a nice airsoft rifle too.

I'm no photographer (I can't set a scene to save my life) but this is as best as I can do. Excluding my MP5K these are all the working AEGs I currently have:

With the exception of the stock CA M15A4 rifle the others have all been built from scratch. LTR: M16A2 + M203, M15A4, Solid-stock M733S, L85A1 and AK47.

This is my M40A1:

You can see some bigger photos of them and my others guns at: guns.davidwulff.co.uk

My xmas project is a custom MP5A4 - the host + parts are en route from HK since Monday.

Cheers,

- Dave

A sad tradeoff in order to fit the battery in there. I did look initially at jigging an M4A1 wiring loom out behind the handguard clip and connected to a battery in a fake magaine + a ready mag system, but it spoilt the appearance of the gun as I prefer to use the short profile magazines with it.

To be honest, when shooting them I'd prefer a full stock any day - it just feels more comfortable to me. Maybe in the new year I can go back to the drawing board and try and work out an M733 with a sliding stock and the battery back in the handguard. I have other projects to do first though, I got bored with always working with M16 family guns and want to try some MP5's and the on to other HK's.

A buttpad is something I have never tried, but I've seen some add-on ones for the sliding stocks so I'll certainly give it a go when I next look at them. My only real gripe with it was that the stock always felt as if it was digging into my shoulder on the bottom edge (but it wasn't, it was just awkward). After just half an hour of shooting my shoulder would be aching. I hope a pad will prevent that.

I have no problem with the full stock on th M733 with the silencer on it, but without it makes the look very rear balanced... however, full stock on short carbine is a good tactical choice: more comfy, more accurate, and better battery... and it's not too long for CQB I think, despite I'm not a great CQB specialist!

i am getting a side rail soon, my metal bodies are arriving this week or next

i wouldn't dare drilling holes in my plastic body it just wouldn't hold the heavy kobra and rail mount =)

i want a side folding stock badly...

but i dont know how much work i will need to do for it to fit a tm ak...
