Antagon
As you know, if you want to directly link to a picture hosted on a geocities server, you must rename it as .txt. Unfortunatly, this new forum won't let me link to a .txt using the IMG tags...anything we can do about that?
Arnie
No. For security reasons the forums won't allow that. Easiest way is to provide a link to the image, rather than using image tags.
Antagon
Security reasons? My *albatross*!! I mean..uhh....gotcha boss, oh well, guess I'll just have to take up your bandwidth by uploading my pics ;)
Marcus
Just a bit of computer geekery, If your browser displays a .txt as an image when hosted on Geocrappies (or anywhere else for that matter), it means it actually reads and interprets the file to see what it might be before attempting to display it. Not all browsers do this, for good reason, because it also means that someone renaming a malicious .exe to .jpg will have your browser running the program, not looking at a blank or white noise-image! I assume you're using Windows/IE and with SP2 that is getting better, but it's still bad practice. M.
