Ok don't get your hopess to high this is more a $2.87 "claymore".

Backround: Ok I wanted to make a "claymore" because I did not want to shell out $150 for a claymore that makes a sound. So I looked all over these forums for a claymore that fit my needs. My needs was cheap, not mess, shooting BBs, and easy to set up. This is what I came up with.

How it works: I took a piece of 3/4 inch PVC pipe with a cap, spring (free from a friend) and a metal cap and a screw. This is how it works, I took a 3/4 inch peice of PVC pipe and capped one end and put spring from one of my friends in the open end with a 3/8 inch metal threaded cap. This cap is in the PVC pipe and goes in side the pipe to keep the BBs from going down in the spring. Then I drilled a hole in the bottom towards the cap to put in a pin to stop the spring when it is compressed. That way when you put in a pin and it is tripped by a wire it will shoot. Then I put a screw on the top of the pipe to stop the metal cap and the spring from shooting out with the BBs. To prepare it to shoot you shove a doll rod down it and put in the pin.

How does it shoot: Well I did little testing on the launcher but what I found is that is will have plenty of power for CQB and woodlands. I mostly CQB. The spread is like an Escort grenade but the compasty for it is 40. The compasty on mine is from 40 to 500 so the spread is a lot better. The power and range from what I could tell by shooting it in to a clothes hamper is that is was 20 feet before it losses power.

Specs: 1 foot in lenth, 200 compasty and only $2.87

I did not read that sum it up please: Well this is an easy thing to build and it works like a charm.

I will have pictures up soon. The cradle to the camera is in my sisters room (she is sleeping) so I cant download them to show you guys. I will try to get a video to put up.

claymore.jpg This may help. I made this real fast. There is no wire on the screw.

I did this for the heck of it.

you should use more than one screw, or even better an endcap, and coat the pipe in duct tape in order to reduce the chances of it becoming a pvc shard throwing bomb if the pipe cracks.

You have never built a potato cannon before I guess. This spring I got from a friend witch took it out of a 300 FPS BB gun. No not an airsoft gun.

I Did this, only in a compact form with metal tubing and a 2p coin (about an inch wide). Worked rather well, except that I had to throw it in the bin, because it mangled the bits I used to stop it becoming a coin launcher... which made it launch coins.

I should try and make another one soon.
