HardCoil
Doug: Don't worry, I just remodeled the front because I wanted it to look different. It's not at all nessecary. The styrene is glued together with glue made for that, which melts the styrene parts together. Once glued, the plastic is fundamentally one single piece, and it's really strong. Both the front and rear sight mounts are held in place by really huge screws from inside the cover, which go through convenient holes along the centre line already there. However, centre of gravity lies further back (at the pistiol grip), so carrying the gun by the handle isn't somthing you'd really do. On a FAMAS you can grip it around the centre of gravity, at the end of the rail, you can't do that if you have a G36 rail there. And yeah, here's a pic of the whole gun: Thanks for the kind words about it BDB
Doug
Ho man, I just had a look at your sight, Hardcoil; that stuff is cool! I especially like the G3 support weapon - why not stick a CAW MosMag on it to round the effect off?
bullzebub
where could i get plasticard?
HardCoil
You can get plasticard in many hobby shops that deal with model kits and such. I got mine here: http://www.weavermodels.co.uk/acatalog/Onl...lastic_102.html Doug: Nah I'm building an electric box mag complete with a chain of 7.62 dummy rounds for the G3
Duff Beer
That Famas is awful. The round grips just don't go with the angular reciever. Grim!
Warhogg
Kick @ss gun Hardcoil! I don't think the angular stock clashes with the curves. I can't wait to se the finished product.
HardCoil
Thanks, but let's get back to discussing doug's project!! I'll post a thread once I finish mine and people can go BOOOO and YAY about that there
Doug
One word Hardcoil: Yay! Anyhoo, I should reiterate that I don't have a FAMAS at the moment; whether I get one or not will depend one how easy it appears to be to modify it as I suggested above. I guess you could call this thread a 'feasability study'
michael_collins
Grim? Are you NUTS!? Thats the best bullpup ive EVER seen, jesus christ i want one!
Soloman
that seriously kicks *albatross* hardcoil, was it a pain trying to get the trigger on the p90 to work instead of the famas one?
HardCoil
Not really because I did it with electronics (a MOS-FET transistor relay) and a microswitch. If I had tried doing it mechanically it wouldn't have been possible . The FAMAS gearbox expects a pull, while the P90 trigger is set up to push.
Soloman
ah... i see

HardCoil
Uhm yeah, I should have stated "impossible for me". I suck at that kind of thing. So yeah, good point. It's doable with a mechanical solution.
