My eye! Sweet Jesus, Ouch!

As much as it pains me to say this (because I hate Apple's nonsense) the new Apple connector is much better.

It doesn't matter though because connectors are the past.

The micro USB on my old Note failed but it doesn't matter because wireless charging is the future and my S4 has it.

No wear on my micro USB connector.

There are rumblings that the next iteration of USB won't care which way round you put it in, which is smart. Will avoid those stupid 4th dimension moments where you have to try 3 times to plug in something that only has two possible ways to fit.

Wireless everything is great but it's got to be better, a lot of wireless comms are quite temperamental, and also if we use it for everything we're going to run out of bandwidth and have the air full of RF at all times which is a nightmare for electronics.

A removable battery and SD card

I think just those two would be enough for me/most people. Mind you, Google aren't totally in the clear either, their Nexus tablets don't have SD slots for no good reason; with a tablet I'd want to stick a load of TV shows, films, games, etc. on there to watch on planes/buses/trains and in bed (without getting my laptop out) but even with the most expensive on board storage option I'd have to be pretty selective about what I kept on there. They bang on about cloud storage but for a portable device it's a huge pain, what about when I'm on said planes trains and automobiles, or on the move and unwilling to pay for 3G/can't get an Internet connection? Very annoying.

Perhaps they all want to limit us in a kind of counter culture to a few years ago when MP3 players could hold thousands of songs which we wouldn't listen to but just had them on there to fill up the device?

Maybe now they want us to be selective about what we watch and shows / films that we deem 'important' enough to be on our device?

That or the design is just *suitcase*.

OTG cable, allows you to hook up proper USB, then the world is your mollusc of choice!

What he said, Google don't put an SD card slot in the Nexus because they use USB OTG (On The Go).

You can watch things on a portable hard drive or memory stick.

Cheaper per Gb and with more widespread compatibility.

There was one vacant seat on the last coach to Oxford tonight. I don't go all the way through so can grab a bus until like 11:30. Woman with very young child are trying to get to Oxford. I decide what the hell and give up my seat. But she doesn't  say thank you, smile or even nod in acknowledgement.

I bloody hate people...

And my PLB hasn't turned up, was posted Monday and I'm getting concerned.

1: have to see what sort of state it's in (advertised as a rolling restoration) might not be that bad, might need major structural work.

2: need to clear with Mrs Tink, although i did get a good sized bonus this month... And christmas is soon...

I want a MKII Jetta Coupe.  Like this:

http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?4898289-FS-Black-88-MK2-Jetta-Coupe-2door-VR6-OBD2-CEII-Utah

The problem is, he's in the USA.

It doesn't even have a listing on "how many left?" because the 2 door wasn't sold here but the Jetta CL has 18 left in the country with 28 SORNed.

You can get a decent one from Holland and then stick MK2 Gold tuning parts under it and have a beautiful sleeper.

Are you willing to restore it?

Yes and no - If I get it it'll be a daily driver, so it's never going to be concours quality, but at the same time, if its not too bad and the parts are available, (I've heard Bad Things about the obsolescence of some of the parts) then yeah.

You were lucky to find one.  There only seems to be a handful on Auto Trader right now.

There's many more places than autotrader to purchase vehicles from ;) Pistonheads has a few, ebay has a few, VolksZone has a few.... ;)

Autotrader can be for more rare things like this.

Suppose with a daily driver, you don't want to be working on it all the time too. Let's hope its in good nick then!

Edit,I am also jealous. Prefer the golf g60, but would settle for a corridor I suppose!

Have a look on the vw owners clubs / forums .

I used to tune / race and restore vw gti / g40 / g60 and turbo technics versions . The superchargers are only good for 60 k before the bearings give up . Less if they changed to a small pulley to spin it faster . The polo g40 are as rare as hens teeth nowadays !! The g60 came in a few models . Corrado , rallye golf , Wolfsburg edition golfs .and a few other obscure models .

The rarest vw sleeper is the very rare k70 cars . ( looked like a cross between an Audi/ bmw cs but had a vw badge .

I have a mate who runs a vw spares / parts shop in The back of Hornsey . He always finds a way to get even the most obscure vw bits . Specialises in gti , corrado and desirable models . Not the cheapest but always the guy who can get anything !!

Just had a door knocker while bathing my lad (not a euphemism fk...). Was a neighbour saying my car is getting a ticket from the *wheelbarrow* wardens.

My town is holding a big proms weekend here, and parking is atrocious. I parked a few doors down, no lines on the road, but the kerb is dropped, for wheelchair access to the pavement he said. No signs, *fruitcage* all.

I've lived here 2 years, and the only time you get wankers giving tickets is this proms weekend. Never seen one anywhere round us any other time.

Council makes a fortune over the weekend as it's on council land, then the locals get bumraped too when they can't park because said council has already coned off half the streets, at a time where parking is needed more than ever.

Worth fighting, or suck it up?
